please someone explain to me how we go and get best coreography and labeld as last mixed group in finals...im not trying to be rude or put any other choirs down im just wondering how that happens......... :/
The Best Vocal/ Choreography captions were based off prelim scores, which were very tight. The top 5 groups were separated by 17 points total. After prelims, the scores went as follows (a couple may be a point or two off as I'm doing this from memory and don't have the composite from our packet in front of me):
1- Danville 626
2- Hersey- 621
3- Manteno- 616 (I believe)
4- Bishop Luers- 612 (I believe)
5- Glenwood- 609
There are four scoring categories: Vocal, Movement, Show, Effect. Hersey was leading vocals by 3 points, Manteno was leading movement (choreo), and Danville was leading both Show and Effect.
With scores being that close, and adding two additional judges to finals, it would not have been surprising for any of those 5 groups to walk away the winner. While there certainly was a good deal of movement from prelim rankings to final rankings, there is nothing that should be deemed terribly suprising.
Congratulations to all groups as the final results could have gone a number of different ways!
