Mitchell has an amazing show this year. Just like last year, their costumes emphasize their choreography. The women's closing outfits make you say "woah!" but the guys choreography with those outfits are freakin sweet.

Yeah, the costuming is really awesome.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who said such nice things about Iowa City West's Good Time Company. We had so much fun, and everyone at the school, especially our hosts, were absolutely incredible! I can't wait to come back next year. =>.

My favorite sandbagging happened at Great River in 07. Cedar Rapids Prairie had all 3 judges place them in finals (i think 4, 6, 6,) and Linn-Mar had only 1 judge put them in finals (1, 7, 9), but Linn-Mar ended tied for 4th and Prairie ended up in 8th. Crazy how that happens.

Oh my god... I remember that! I was HORRIFIED.

Just an update. Iowa City West did not receive any penalty. They just didn't make finals. Two judges had them in finals (2nd and 4th), and one judge had them way out of finals (9th), resulting in them not making it. They did tie for 7th with Lewis Central, and they were about 5 points out from making finals. It was a very tight competition after the top one or two spots.

thank you so much for clearing this up for all of us because all the kids at westside were VERY confsued as to how they did not make finals with the show they had

Sucks that that happened to Iowa City West. I think they have a great show this year. But again, congrats to everyone who competed there Saturday. Obviously this was a very tight competition!

Oh I know the feeling. Remember our good friend Russell Clifford?

Blech. I hate when groups get sandbagged like this

Agreed. I've had this happen to me with multiple groups with multiple schools. Its super unfortunate. My favorite was receiving a 1st, a 4th, a 5th, and a 9th at Cedar Rapids Kennedy last year.

We were 5 points away from finals, don't know exactly in what categories we were weak in, but that's all I know right now

Wow thanks alot!! That is really nice of you to say. I think I'm the red head you're talking about since I'm the only redhead girl in our group. So wow Thanks!!!

You were such a good performer! I couldn't stop watching you!

Ralston. My new favorite show choir ;). The opener is honestly one of my favorite openers of all time. The opening soloist is fantastic. One of the best I have EVER heard. I loved the beginning of the ballad with the diagnal line. And the ballad soloist was okay ;) (just joking. Maddie you're freaking amazing.) The Les Mis song was freaking hilarious. During daytime AND finals. I cracked up. The changes you made to finals for this song were perfect. Just overall hilarious. I loved the costumes for the money song. And your closer was also great. I LOVE the tap. Ralston has great choreography and good vocals. Huge shout out to the gorgeous Angie, the entertaining Carlos, Dianna Lee, and everyone else that I met throughout the day. (Oh, and to the girl who texted angie asking if I was Ethan Price. Hi! )

ethan, your comments are always exciting to read :> thanks! i'll see you at heelan!!

Grand Island Senior High. Your finals show was LEAPS better than your daytime performance. Your vocals in finals blew me away. Jump was extremely entertaining. There is this redhead girl that is in the front most of the time that was a fantastic performer. So shout out to her. Your ballad was one of my favorites of the day.

That is such a nice thing to say (: I have loved Ralston since my sophomore year so it's been fun to watch you guys grow!
Ps. Tell Alex Reagan that I am his number one fan, from Allie Conklin ahahah

well we were 5 points away from finals, not sure why yet but hey, this is show choir it's full of weird suprises. Thanks so much for ur compliments, it truly means a lot. I know this sounds bad but I really am happy that u teared up during our ballad, that was one of my weird goals.
