don't hate me if i'm wrong.

buuuuuuut.

live critiques this year!
an amazing gymatorium set up with a fantastic sound system by urban communications
and point system.

we're excited to have old abe back! wooo!

Waconia's Gymatorium is probably the second best venue I've ever performed in, only second to the American Gardens Theater in Epcot. Don't worry about it being "only" a Gymatorium, because it's awesome for sure.

This is our first time competing at Waconia (in recent years anyways, I heard we went once upon a time...) but I have a couple questions

Is there a video critique or a live critique?
Auditorium or gymatorium?
Is finals scored on a points system or a ranking system?

Thanks, and we are so excited for this weekend

Thanks to an awesome show choir mom, I have a list of the groups in order. I don't have times for the groups yet, but this was copied off the back of the shirts. The first group goes at 8, and I have a few times that I've thrown in there that the Waconia groups are supposed to go at, so that should give you a rough schedule idea. This marvelous mom also said that she's working on getting me a full schedule, so I'll get that up here as soon as I get my hands on it.

Southside Sensation - South St. Paul
Knightlights - O'Gorman High School
Aristocats - Western Dubuque HS
Eagle Show Choir - Memorial HS
Jefferson Jive - Thomas Jefferson HS
The Seward High Singers - Seward HS
La Voce Ballo - Bemidji HS
12:30 - The Pulse - Clearwater Middle School (Waconia Middle School Group 1)
12:50 - Shockwave - Clearwater Middle School (Waconia Middle School Group 2)
5th Avenue - Western Dubuque HS
Eagle Express - Central HS
Ovation! - O'Gorman HS
Encore Singers - Totino-Grace HS
Rhythm in Red - Vermillion HS
The Old Abe Show Choir - Memorial HS
Impulse - Wahlert HS
Tiger Drive - Marshall HS
Company of Singers - Totino-Grace HS
Jefferson Connection - Thomas Jefferson HS
Vocalmotive - Bemidji HS
5:45 - The Current - Waconia HS
7:00 - Part Time Heroes
FINALISTS
10:45 - Power Company - Waconia HS

That actually helps me out less... lol I have no clue who to fill with that 6th spot.

GC: Totino-Grace
1RU: Bemidji
2RU: Bloomington Jefferson
3RU: Dubuque Wahlert
4RU: Eau Claire
5RU: Jive or Encore Singers (i dont believe encore has competed yet right?)
6RU: Whoever the 6th Varsity group is.

Totino sweep. Except best male soloist. That one is DEFINITELY going to Margaux and Cecelia :-P

Obviously. We have best male soloist in the bag.

who did??

Margaux and Cecelia. Obviously. We also go by "Pandas"

got it encore my bad haha. i was absolutely in LOVEEEE with their dresses at eau claire! they looked like my friends prom dress last year...so elegant and gorgeous! props to whoever picked em haha

KARA stop talking about me, I'm gonna blush!

I haven't seen a lot of these choirs, but I think that top three will probably be Totino-Grace, Bemidji, and Bloomington Jefferson, in that order. Not sure about any of the other varsities because I'm not familiar with them. I'd say that BJeff should get best band, Totino probably best vocals and choreography. Or Bemidji. Who knows. I love bemidji's set this year, I saw them at Eau Claire! I can't wait to see Totino Grace (if I get the chance. we perform right after them in prelims. Sucks that we have to follow totino grace!!)
JIVE has been doing phenomenal this year and took prep grand champ and they got fourth runner up in finals at eau claire above waconia and totino grace's prep groups. I'd place them high on your bets!! =>

Just to correct a bit of information you posted...
The Current and Jive TIED in finals at Eau Claire

hahaha YES! most definitely.
bahahahahhahaha, i'm still laughing.

i'm beginning to find it more competitive than varsity.

kara... how do you not know who ana is?
come on girl.

Lol.

Amen. I feel like all the varsity groups are the same and it's boring, but prep groups are really close and are all completely different and it's a lot more fun.

and Amen. Everyone should know who Ana is. If Totino is at a competition with you just look for the fabulously dressed woman who has a huge gaggle of followers

pfft, we offered to judge tg.
get it together!

No, I know. But since Waconia is our old home ground, I figured Mr. Olson would hire such prestigious show choir faces to come and judge Star Power.

I already bowed to her numerous times at Linn-Mar. Ana is the fashion goddess of the world. And my idol.

An icon, haha.
