In regards to the trash-talking and some comments from parents, I think while attending competitions and posting on SCC, we should all try and think how our words will affect others. While I don't the details of these specific situations, in my experience at least, it's usually best to keep any negative comments to ourselves, at least until we're on the bus or car ride home haha. We all have our opinions, and constructive criticism can be very helpful, however we need to be aware of when we're crossing the line between being constructive and being hurtful.
Thanks

Thanks for the tour too Tuck! The new addition is really beautiful! And I promise I'll stop gushing about the puppy soon but I'll say it one more time...CUTEST DOG EVER.

WOW this really relates to facebook today.

One time Aaron Olson met John Stamos on a plane... And he told him he was pretty.

Great way to say it, Margaux!

If I could "love" the part in bold, I would.

Yesterday was amazing and one of the toughest competitions I've ever seen. I came 5 hours to watch and this competition didn't dissappoint. It was just amazing choir after amazing choir and I was in aw after ever choir I watched. Minnesota (and Mississippi) knows show choir. Mr. Stolby I'm like 95% sure I sat in front of you during the day round so nice to meet you.
Don't forget about South Dakota! Mitchell represented their state very well here. Great job to all groups!

The Hastings kids are some of the nicest kids. They are friendly and are great sports. Congratulations on a VERY well deserved Sportsmanship Award.

The things I say in this post DO NOT REFLECT Waconia at all. I usually restrain myself, but in this instance, I felt strongly that something needed to be said.

1. I heard a story that came from one of the Waconia moms that she overheard a group of Hastings kids say something along the lines of the following quote while waiting in line to get into the gym. "We're going to cream Waconia since we brought our own judges." I don't think any group could trash talk worse than that.

2. It's Bemidji, not Bemidgi. +3 Haakon Points.

I think it's probably good policy and great advice to not believe everything you hear.

Spectacular was truly spectacular (and that's the last 'spectacular' pun, I promise.)

I thoroughly enjoyed hosting Clinton Attaché. They were incredibly kind, and they are just a classy group of people. I'm really looking forward to seeing you all in Nashville =>

I only got to watch two shows - Clinton and Mitchell.

CLINTON... incredible. Choreography.. um can you say precision? When they started dancing in warm-up, I said, "wow.... they really do dance like that." Their show is so intricate, but it was performed with such professionalism that there was nothing to do but admire the amount of dedication and hard work that obviously goes into every performance. Plus, the Fehrs' dog is quite possibly the most adorable thing on the planet. You guys are rock stars.

MITCHELL... your vocals were STUNNING. Especially the women's sound (not like the men were bad by any stretch of the imagination). The sopranos had such a lovely color, especially in the upper register. I was floorrred by the guys' red shoes in the closer, and that you spun people around on those metal frames. I really wanted to try it. Congratulations!

HASTINGS... I'm proud to say I was at your first and last competition. You guys have been a pleasure to watch all season. Not only are you that good of a show choir, you are that nice of one as well. Congratulations. You guys deserve it. AND your concert choir did a phenomenal job at Orchestra Hall on Friday with André Thomas, VocalEssence and The St. Olaf Choir. You guys are awesome!

Thanks to all the choirs that competed yesterday, and the 2,600 (ish) people that bought tickets. It was an incredible day. Thanks for supporting TG show choir!

See you next year (as a spectator), Spectacular. =>

Not trying to get any drama going or anything, I just kind of wanted to give my thoughts on things.

I had Clinton, Waconia, Bemidji, Hastings, Mitchell and Craig as the groups for finals. I was honestly really surprised that that's not who ended up performing. Craig's vocals were great and their set was strong and well put together, I think they should have made finals.

As for how finals went, I had it-

GC-Clinton (Best Vocals)
1RU-Mitchell (Best Choreography)
2RU-Waconia
3RU-Hastings
4RU-Bemidji
5RU-Kennedy

So I was surprised at how it actually turned out, I think Mitchell no doubt should have gotten 1RU, and honestly could have taken GC. And I have no idea how Waconia got 4RU, they deserved a higher placing for sure. Overall, I was just really confused on the judging at this competition, I guess they looked for things completely different than what I do in a great show. But that's just me. Please don't kill me for my opinion
