I was told something, and I guess i am SLIGHTLY confused-

Totino won best male and female sound.
yet... they are SECOND in vocals?
how does that work?

Buffalo Grove has a third gender which absolutely blew away Totino's third gender.

As of last night I had heard .8 points separated Totino from BG.

In terms of the other groups every year all the finals groups are normally within 8-12 points. This is b/c it is averaged over the 5 judges meaning the groups are down 8-12 points per judge or rather 40-60 points overall.

Also remember that finals use Fehr's fair scoring, meaning the group with the most 1sts will win. Finals aren't based on points, judges places are all that matters.

Company goes first and Expressions go last... tough fight for Totino.

I can get down with the whole finals thing, but I'm not sure I can get with the 9am finals thing.

Huh.. yeah, that definitely seems odd. Plus, it lessens the suspense..

False. Top two are close. Rest are miles behind.

I looked at the score sheet. Theres 8 points separating number 1 and 5. It's very close.

I heard there were no points separating the top two groups...they were tied. Vocally. And choreographically. So they used overall "looks" of the choir as a tiebreaker...and Totino came out on top.

Edgewood won Best Stage Crew.

Someone told me the top four placings are within nine points. True? False?

I've heard one point separates the top two groups.

I was told the same thing.

I think that the top five are within 8 points. It's going to be a close one tomorrow.

Thanks for the information! I hope Warehouse performs well tomorrow. The people I talked to in Nashville said they had their best performance of the year today. Now if they can trump that tomorrow, it would be great!

I haven't seen BG live, but from what I've seen this year I would venture to say they'll win vocals and Totino will win choreography.... But that's why they are predictions. Not factual results.

Per Alex Hall on twitter:

Finalists (order)
Totino Grace
Jackson Prep
Opelika
Edgewood (IN)
Homestead
Buffalo Grove

Totino and BG are top 2, and very close to each other.

Last year Urbandale performed Thursday night and made finals. Pekin also performed and did not. I think it's a good thing to question having some of the groups go a completely different night. It's hard to judge the same competition on two different days...

We got to go to SCN my senior year!!! It was a blast! The Opryland Hotel is GIANT and beautiful! And of course performing in the Grand Ole Opry is so wonderful!

Pekin was close to finals though! 3 points! Haha. In 2009, Buffalo Grove performed first on Thursday night and won GC. Missing this comp - had so much fun last year! Good luck to everyone and have a blast! Any results for Women's or Jr. High?

Personally, I view a sweep as GC/BV/BC. Best band has different rules at different places and some choirs aren't even eligible for it based on those criteria.
That makes sense!...idk that's how I've always seen it
