I was one of the emcee's at this competition and it was such a great day! Thanks to all the groups for coming out and making this an enjoyable event for everyone and myself! I hope you enjoyed the fun facts and the epic sing-off during final awards!

However the awards were decided, this was a great competition with ten great choirs.

In the finals performance, as determined by rank scoring, Solon and Piqua tied for the vocals caption. Piqua won the choreography caption by 2 points. However, these scores were apparently only used to determine caption awards and were not used to determine the winner.

The overall score (which was the "true" determinant of placings) was a tie, and so the judges met, made a consensus, and decided Solon was to be the Grand Champions.

Hope this clears up any confusion over the differences between daytime and evening scores.

Solon was announced as the winner of best vocals, the tie was broken by the judges consensus. No offense to anyone from piqua but the tie was broken and solon was the winner of best vocals.

That's what I heard.

The only evening captions were choreography and vocal performance. Does anyone have class champions from afternoon?

What's with all these sweeps in captions, yet not taking GC? I'm so proud of Solon though, this made me excited at how much improvement they've shown.
It was decided by rank scoring like Jaron said.

Piqua got second, according to a Facebook status from a member of the group.

I'd be interested to see who won GC. I was there for daytime and I thought Piqua was the best. My top three were Piqua, Solon, Medina. I saw Solon as Cuyahoga Falls 2 weeks ago and thought it was a good show - it struck a note with me today because I was very impressed.
