I tried to say something nice about CG's placement, considering I love them, and how poorly they did at the beginning of the year. You completely ruined the sentiment by making your ex-group look like petty jerks. I love CG 98 percent of the time, but wow, way to take away from someone else's victory. I didn't think this was HN 2005?

I'm sure Carmel won because their effing incredible, not on a technicality.

Let's not be oversensitive, Scott. Logan was just expressing his opinion and I'm sure he was frustrated with his group taking second after having tied. That's totally understandable, and in no way does his post make his entire group look like "petty jerks." You of all people should realize that one person does not represent an entire choir. It actually raises an interesting question about scoring, the best way to do it, and ties in general. Personally I think that judges use way too little of the scoresheet and that's a major reason we end up with more ties than we should in the first place. Perhaps a ranking system (as some competitions do use in finals) would be more appropriate to avoid skewing of the results. These are all good topics for discussion. But let's not bash one guy for expressing his opinion with the system, especially when he didn't say anything negative about Carmel at all - just his frustration with the way the awards were dealt.

Not trying to sound like jerk. I should have worded it better. That is my opinion and I expressed it. It is the second year in a row SS lost to a tie. Last year it was at Fame and the tie breaker was whoever had the most judges having them in first. I agreed with that ruling although it sucked we lost lol. I also am in no way dising Carmel. I know that they are very tough competition every year and always are front runners at every competition. I was expressing my opinion on how the tie was broken. I am sorry that I offended some of you in that process.

Just from what I have been told is that Carmel won because the received a Vocal Caption, while supposedly 4 out of 6 judges had Sound System in first. Normally majority rules, if it would have been 3 and 3 and the competition wants to choose the GC by the Vocal Caption that is there ruling. Although, if in fact it was 4 and 2 that goes against what I learned in kindergarden. Majority Rules.

Wow! What a great competition!
I was completly blown away by Carmel and Center Grove. Yesterday was the first time I'd ever seen Carmel live, and I was amazed with their sound. Twinsburg was excellent as well. I LOVED "Born this Way", especially since the song came out last month! It looked and sounded like they had been working on it since the summer haha. I loved Marysville's show. Back in January I wasn't as impressed, but they have come a long way this season and gave a performance that was just as good as their 2007 or 2008 show. Lawrence Central was good too, nice job! Unfortunatly I didn't see Solon, but I'm sure it was good, because I saw them in January and was very impressed with them then. Loveland, you guys rocked it! You could have made finals had it not been such a tough competition. If you would have performed the shwo you did yesterday at TV last year, you could have been in the top 3. I'm so proud!
What a great day of show choir as the competition season draws near an end. Good luck to those who still have more contests and performances!

Let me first say thank god I'm not a judge, because everyone was fantastic today, but does anyone else think it's funny that ISSMA seems to have had no drama this year, but two of the groups who came to TV because they did not want to deal with that drama this year ended up tangled in a tie?

Wonderful competition tonight with some amazing groups!

I completely agree with Carmel getting the win. Vocally they were nearly perfect! This is the first time I have ever seen them and am so happy that I got to experience this amazing group I also would have awarded them best choreography because it was the cleanest and the most effective of the groups this evening! Thanks for putting on an amazing show!

Personally I was not as impressed with Center Grove as I have been in the past, but they were very good. Vocals for them, though very impressively dynamic, the tone was not what it has been in the past. I felt that the vowels were fairly spread and a lot of the time the chords did not lock in. I would have had them behind Lawrence Central.

Lawrence Central's vocals were wonderful. Very dynamic and with great tone overall. I was underwhelmed by the choreography in general, but the show was fun and paced very well.

Marysville sounded great tonight and the end of the ballad was beautiful! There was a slight tempo problem at the end of the fourth number, but other than that the show was very tight overall and really enjoyable.

Solon and Twinsburg were great tonight as well.

Hope everyone had as much fun tonight as I did.

It's entirely possible that even though it was 4 to 2, the points came out the same (and thus they broke the tie by the vocal score). Every competition runs differently, but if it was judged by points and not by placements, it doesn't really matter how many judges had one group in first (for better or worse).

This is a shoutout to those three Ohio schools:
Way to go guys. All three of you guys have had amazing seasons. Best of luck to Twinsburg and Marysville in their respective National events. And congrats Solon on giving it all every single time and always giving schools a strong fight.

WOW! Way to go Sound System! I know the year started off slow, but it seems you've come back full force. Hope to see you at Fame Nationals!

Great win for Carmel and a great placement for LC against a really tough field of competitors.

Same to Marysville, I really hadn't expected to see you all place above Twinsburg this year based on what I saw at Pike, but you also seem to have turned it around and I wish I had been there to see your show, Loved your opener.

I really wish I'd been able to come to this competition. I'm sure the night show was a lot of fun!

Center Grove and Carmel tied, but since Carmel had a higher vocals score, and they took GC.
