Wow! Great groups!!! Predictions?!
Geez, even the jr. high division is going to be a great competition.
swingsdad23 you are my hero! Thank you for having my back! Can't wait to see the groups this weekend. Please keep fingers cross for safe roads, no cancelations, and a smooth, problem free competition.
P.S. when are you going to the MTZ director to compete at the Springfield Southeast Competition.LOL j/k kinda!
Definitely look forward to hearing how this competition ends out. If Waubonsie Valley was here, I would call it the Illinois State Championships. Best of luck to all!
Pekin Noteables are putting everything they have into this competition. Idk how they'll hold up but I think they are being doubted by the show choir community because of the loss of Connie Mulligan but I think they will really impress some people. They want it bad and they've gone through so much, I think their drive and passion will really show on the 22nd.
Haha sounds like this should be one very entertaining competition! There are a few groups that I'm keeping an eye on to see how they are this year, and they could be some groups to watch for.
First: O'Fallon. Great Ex is heading to FAME Branson later this year, and I can't wait to see how they start out. They were a pretty talented group last year with some awesome soloists. They have a bit of that different view on show choir, where it makes kind of a "musical", if you will, sort of in the style of Burbank and Burroughs, but still holding on to some of that Midwestern show choir "flair". They should be fairly entertaining to watch.
Second: Glenwood. This group just keeps getting better and better every year under Jeff Gemar. I'm not sure if he's brought them to Mt. Zion since he left, so it should be interesting to see how they do. They could surprise everyone and just knock our socks off. I'm really looking forward to see how good Titan Fever is this year.
Third: Sullivan. I'm really looking forward to see what Connie Mulligan is doing with these kids. The group has really increased in numbers since she took over, and I really think she's gonna do wonders for them, just like she did for us at Pekin. I don't know many of the specifics of their show this year, but look for probably minimal set this year. I'm really looking forward to seeing Sullivan this year, and seeing how they progress this year.
Last: Manteno. Magic is actually under a new director this year, but they will still have that style that they bring to competition. I hear that Kassy Krause, who was the director of Manteno Middle School Grand Paws and asst. director of Magic last year, is doing a wonderful job in her first year and I hope that Magic will be great this year. Their former director, Mike Synder, is still helping out with the combo, and I think Magic is going to try to bring home some more hardware this year, and will probably have a great year after coming off of a year in which they brought home their first ever Grand Championship at Herscher. Can't wait to see what's in store from Manteno Magic.
I'm really looking forward to Mt. Zion so I can see what's in store for this year. I know that WWS, BG, EEE, and Troy are all going to be great groups, as well as the others that will be attending, and I can't wait to see how Pekin will do in our first year with Ms. Tarpley.
Good line up! I feel like this is going to be a great season for competitions!
I know! With the look of Mt. Zion, I'm real excited to see the rest of the groups going to the other competitions we'll be at. I guess if we are looking for predictions, we should start by just picking who would make finals. Anyone got a list of who they think will make finals?
