Mt. Zion received a 100 point penalty for going over by 4 minutes. Without the penalty they would've been in 2nd place to La Crosse Central.

Prep / Single-Gender Results:

GC: La Crosse Central Women
1RU: Burlington
2RU: Monona Grove

Best Band.

GC: La Crosse Central GCS
1RU: Sauk Prairie
2RU: La Crosse Central CC

Interesting. Well, there goes my initial guess. Cant believe that Mt. Zion didn't make it to finals. I guess we'll see if the time penalty is true.

Also, what's Sauk's show this year? Last year's "Working" got on my nerves initially but grew on me as the season progressed.

GC: GCS
1RU: CR Prairie
2RU: MG/Sauk Prairie
3RU: MG/Sauk Prairie
4RU: LaX Logan
5RU: Neenah

The time penalty is true. The MC talked about penalties being enforced right before they announced finals. They said that obviously because of MTZ.

Also, Sauk Prairie's show is selections from Jesus Christ Superstar. They just took the stage. UnFortunately will not be able to update after this until after finals awards are announced.

Quite good. I believe that without those time penalties MTZ was in 2nd and it was close between the top three of GCS, MTZ, and Prairie.

order of finals

LAX Logan
Monona Grove
Sauk Prairie
GCS
Neenah
CR Prairie

Order of finalists was chosen by each school with GCS getting first choice for first place, Prairie chose next, and so forth.

thanks

MTZ only had extra risers they judt did it very slowly.
And they should be very aware of the time restrictions as they have been coming for quite awhile now.

Finalists

GCS

Rumor I heard was MTZ had time penalty... They took forever to set up and take down.

What did they set up? A city?

And the time penalty debate continues...

Facebook (thanks Jorge) just told me they got a 150 point time penalty. If the rules were clearly spelled out and enforced fairly, then so be it.

*If anyone knows what the criteria were for the time penalty (points per minute or something to that effect) and/or what would have caused Mt. Zion to receive that large of penalty, please share.

Wow... a drastic change from the past panels of judges.
Mark Mangold has been there before! Doran would pass out the judges' tapes to the seniors and have them take notes about what they said. I got Mangold and I enjoyed it.

We were there last night for the Middle School Clinic and Gates gave us an AMAZING critique session. He was right on target! Thanks to Onalaska for allowing us to come up!

I would imagine that Tim Peter isn't judging the show choir competition and just the concert choir portion. There is a huge festival at Luther (Dorian) that really starts taking off today.
