I feel like while reading a lot of posts on here is that everyone is wanting this competition to go to the wayside by the way people are ripping into every little thing.
From what I can see there are kinks to work out but as every competition especially one to this magnitude.
I think the problems are largely things that aren't so obvious from the live feed (though the lack of a raised stage is a pretty significant one, in my opinion). I am pretty amazed with how things are coming along given the circumstances. No, I do not believe Finale should get a free pass on this by any means, but right now it's about the students and they are giving fantastic performances, so that is where my energy is focused.
Did 2 of the small mixed choirs switch their order? Because it's listed on here that Knight Moves were first...
YES they did. Northern Lights swapped with them at their request.
Norwell Knight Moves (mixed) has several of the girls if not most who are also in their LADIES' group which also made finals. They wanted a little more time to recuperate before performing again... so NL gave up their later spot for Norwell.
Let's not just assume things. A lot of groups have had custom lighting today...I think someone from the group performing is helping run the lighting (if they want). Plus...this is a video feed...not live...it might look different live. AND did you see their daytime performance? You couldn't see anyone in their entire opener except for the soloist during the day...so tonight was a big improvement.
it should have been completely dark, with a spotlight on our itsy bitsy spider soloist, and then spotlight on our spider woman soloist, and then once her solo was over the lights should have came on a little. but not completely on. they did better on the lighting tonight then they did this morning haha & i wish he got our name right at first hahaha but it's not his fault.
I would just like to point out that a very, very long and impressive streak ended tonight that I think should be recognized and honored. This is the first time since the 1988 competition season that FFE did not make finals at a competition. I always knew this streak had to come to an end someday but I never thought it would happen when my friends were still in the group. I feel so much for those guys and I love them so much. Keep your heads up you still have so much to be proud of.
That's astounding and I hope all members of that group and that community keep their heads high because it's a great group and an amazing tradition.

BV is performing in the dark?? The lighting person completely ruined their opener.

I am *SO* proud of Northridge NORTHERN LIGHTS!! First time out of state competition - amazing performances.
im watching the live feed...and i thought they did VERY good!!! one of my favorites!!
