Oh, and just for the record, Rock Bridge has been to more competitions than are on their SCC record... our Missouri friends aren't very good at reporting results, so we have no idea where else they've been this year.

Some interesting numbers so far this year from qualifying mixed groups:

As far as GC's go, Fairfield, Wheaton, and Brea Olinda are tied with 5. Then it's Totino, Center Grove, and Mt. Zion with 3. Carroll, Jenks, Enterprise, South Jones, and Rock Bridge have won 0 GC's.

Mt. Zion has attended the most competitions (8 including the qualifier). At 2nd most are Carroll and Center Grove (7 including the qualifier). The 3rd most are Brea Olinda, Fairfield, and Wheaton (6 including the qualifier). Totino has attended the 4th most (5 including the qualifier). South Jones has attended the 5th most (4 including the qualifier). Rock Bridge has the 6th most (2 including the qualifier). Enterprise and Jenks have attended the least (only the qualifier).

Best Choreography/Best Visuals/Showmanship: Fairfield and Wheaton both have 5. Totino, Center Grove, and Brea Olinda have 4. Mt. Zion has 3. (*Does not include "Best Show Design"*)

Best Vocals/Musicianship: Fairfield has the most with 5. Totino and Brea Olinda have 4. Wheaton has 3.

I'm feeling very ignorant, but I'm not familiar with Shaun Barrowes. Anyone have information?

He was on season 7 of American Idol. He made it to Hollywood week but was cut from the top 24.

Hm, they really should have had six finalists for this. I can't decide what's going to happen with that last spot.

Predictions:
GC: Wheaton Warrenville South (BC)
1RU: Totino-Grace (BV)
2RU: Fairfield
3RU: Center Grove
4RU: Mt. Zion

T-G could easily take this if they've cleaned their choreo and amped their energy, and Fairfield has a shot too. I think CG is fairly locked for their spot, but then again people are saying they're not as good as they usually are... (I WOULDN'T KNOW, I HAVEN'T SEEN THEM LIVE, SO DON'T FLAME ME). I personally love Mt. Zion's show, but if Brea brings the heat, they definitely could make finals too. If only the feed wasn't $30... good lord.

What's the difference between show and choreo in the midwest? In the west, it's usually just choreography put into showmanship award.
Show Design.

There will be a live feed for this epic event! Look for a link on www.showchoirs.org to subscribe to the Show Choir Fan-Network and watch the competition LIVE! The link should be on the site by Wednesday of this week...
Is there going to be a free live feed or just one that costs a fee?

You can't count out Fairfield in this argument, in my opinion. I do believe that the top 3 from FAME Chicago will finish top three here though.

From there it gets interesting. I would say it's between Center Grove, Brea Olinda, and Mt. Zion for the final two spots.

I agree with you Ethan. I believe Fairfield is going in slightly underrated. That could really work in their advantage. I heard that they didn't look extremely sharp in the day at FAME Chicago. If so, and they fix that I think they compete for the GC.

Although this competition has come of the top talent in the show choir world. I would still like to see groups such as Waubonsie, Attache, John Burroughs, and Burbank in the mix. CAN YOU IMAGINE A COMPETITION WITH ALL OF THOSE GROUPS IN ADDITION TO WHEATON, TOTINO GRACE, FAIRFIELD?!?! I think i would cry
That is 7 groups! They are doing only 5 finalist! Oh boy that competition would be something to behold!

You know I totally agree with you sir! Fairfield has done amazing this year. Show very cool, choreo very clean and vocals are pretty stellar too! Honestly this competition will be almost unbearable to watch!!

The battle for Grand Champion is easily argued between Totino Grace and Wheaton.
