So, quick question: if one of the qualifiers chooses not to attend, does the 4th place group get invited, or no?

The first 3 qualifying groups have been chosen! Mt. Zion High School, Enterprise, and Brea Olinda.

Scott- why do you have Ankeny in 1st?

Probably because I haven't looked at the results of a contest they've gone to in over... I dunno, three years? Last time I checked Ankeny was coming off of a 4 GC season, and was easily ranked in the top 5 in the country. Is this not true anymore?

I know nothing about show choir over there... and i'm pretty content with that.

Really...? They were a couple points away from beating Waubonsie Valley this season, I feel like that a little better than "not that good". Personal opinion.

Yeah, They would have won their own contest over Zionsville last night, and Zionsville is incredible this year. Absolutely amazing. Their "Moon River" ballad put HN's vocals in 2005 0r 2006 to shame. Just perfect.

Of course i'm biased but really, FC Singers is 10 times better now than when I was in it. I'm so proud of that, and with all the problems the school district is facing, it's nice to see some success...

So 4yrmemeber, where would you put CG in this list? I'm assuming you've seen them this year?

Of those I've seen live this year I would rank them:

1 Wheaton Warrenville
2 Totino Grace
3 Franklin Central
4 Omaha WS/Center Grove/Mt Zion

7 Eisenhower

Chicago - Totino-Grace, Wheaton-Warrenville, Fairfield
New York - Eisenhower, Carroll, Olentangy

For clarification, I think that Waconia or Shepard Hill could make it in the top 3 of their respective competitions as well. Didn't want to step on anybody's toes.

Good luck getting clearance to go to two "destinations" from your school board.

This is correct. The idea is that you pay for competition fees for the "regional" one and travel for the Indianapolis one. Assuming that the regionals are close enough that they don't require a plane ticket, the combination of the two evens things out a bit.

Unfortunately, not the case for many groups...

I thought they were paying for competition and hotel fees, but not travel... could be wrong, though.

You might actually be right, but I'm not sure!

Not completely sure, but I heard that FAME is paying for all of the qualifying schools to travel and compete in Indianapolis, so money really isn't an issue.

As much as I enjoy blowing Finale's horn, I have to admit that this whole Indianapolis bit has certainly strengthened every single one of Fame's fields; each of the five qualifiers this year is deeper than most of their past competitions for the past two or three years. I would absolutely love to come see this competition, especially if all of the choirs that do qualify put together the money to get themselves there...

I personally think it should have been between Indianapolis and Columbus, and I think Indianapolis was the right choice.
