You have been designated as Alumni, you will need to contact Haakon about going about "not associating yourself."

Is there any way I can validate without giving the school/choir? I'd like for my opinions to not be associated with my choir, because even if i post that in my sig, some people still consider people's opinions to be the whole choir's opinion as well from time to time.

PM Haakon.

If you make a post with your full name, status (alumni), former high school, and former choir in the Validation Needed Forum at the top of your homepage, one of the crew members will get it taken care of as soon as possible.

I know, but honestly I was a little confused when I first signed up. It kept telling me to register, but i couldn't figure out how. Also, how do you change your status from Student to Alumni? I can't find it anywhere.

As of the reboot of the new SCC, it has been a requirement that you associate yourself with a choir.

Congratulations Cabell Midland! You did a fantastic job and your long hours of practice really paid off. All the show choirs did a great job. My son attended with me and hopefully with his sister being in Midland he will want to join when he gets to high school.

actually, he's right about one thing: a lot of people at the competition agreed with those results. Everyone I talked to thought Hurricane and Cabell Midland would be close. But even if they weren't, I would have put Hurricane in second as well.

And i've viewed posts on this site for a while now, but i only felt the urge to create an account as of recently due to some of this choir-hatred stupidity that's been going on recently. Show choir isn't really about winning, it's more about loving music and loving to perform and entertain people, and I think a lot of people have completely forgotten that. .

I've found it much easier to enjoy show choir since I've graduated. Sure competing is fun, but it is so much easier to enjoy different choirs and judge them with a clear mind when you don't have a horse in the race. That is main the reason our high school marching band didn't compete when I was in school, our director didn't like the culture around it. but they have a new director now so that has changed.

But back on topic...I recall watching Cabell Midland the first time they ever performed at states and the growth of that program is remarkable. All involved should be very proud of themselves.

It's fine. It doesn't happen as much as it used to, but this site used to have a problem with people making fake accounts solely to post nice comments about the group they were affiliated with after competitions. A few year or so ago someone pretending to be from some choir in Iowa came on here complaining about the results from States, so when I see someone that has no choir listed I always do a post check to see what they have been posting. I don't care what people say on here, I got in trouble one or twice in high school for being too honest on these forums....It just drives me crazy when it looks like someone is trying to hide.

Yeah, it gets really annoying after a while. I know that Hurricane isn't allowed to post for that exact reason. Unfortunately, this site has a loooong history of creating drama between choirs due to someone affiliated with one choir voicing opinions that shouldn't be voiced to begin with. And i've viewed posts on this site for a while now, but i only felt the urge to create an account as of recently due to some of this choir-hatred stupidity that's been going on recently. But agreed. and Iowa? If you were going to create a fake account to complain about a competition, it's one thing to register with a choir to avoid suspicion, but at least register with a choir that's within 2,000 miles of the competition you're complaining about. Plus, it's reprehensible to lay all the blame on a choir that probably doesn't even know what is going on and doesn't have anything to do with the matter.

You didn't? I could've sworn I saw your name. Sorry for that, I should've checked again. But I've seen your name before on another page and I can't think of where.

I don't dislike Hurricane, I have friends that used to be in Red Hot. My dad is a Hurricane grad...my cousins went to Hurricane. My issue had nothing to do with Hurricane, it had was about him not having a choir listed. I don't care if people state their opinions, it just bothers me when it looks like they are trying to hide who they are. Which I no long think this person was.

That wasn't directed at you specifically, it's more for anyone viewing this page. It's not from one certain choir, i've heard comments from many choirs on the subject.

up until a few minutes ago he had no choir listed. I have a massive problem with people who pretend to be neutral yet all of these posts tend to deal with only one group. That is the only thing I had issue with, I don't care if a person states their opinion. I'm not trying to "prove", I was just asking a question...you are the one here trying to start a fight.

I'm not trying to start a fight at all. Why didn't you just say that first part to begin with? And I'm not going to say you're wrong, maybe he's not with beavercreek, but even if he's not, it doesn't really matter either way. Also, it's a distinct possibility that he didn't know how or forgot to up until a few minutes ago. All I'm saying is to please stop accusing people without knowing enough information about the subject. You did this on the ARTS page too, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one that would appreciate it if we could just not start a fight. Show choir is not about politics, and it never has been. There's no reason for us to fight amongst ourselves regardless of rivalries or opinion differences.

Also, I posted this on the ARTS page and I'm gonna ask this here too: I've heard about a lot of WV choirs saying lots of derogatory things about red hot, particularly this year. My question is why. What are peoples' problems with hurricane all of a sudden? I'm not actually in a WV choir, but I have friends in Hurricane and I've seen posts on various pages on here. I'd like to know why people despise hurricane all of a sudden, and why I keep seeing and hearing so many derogatory comments about them.

I was a three year member as a singer dancer for Friends, I graduated in 2006. However, I did not post on this forum to discuss me nor do I have to explain myself. I am simply doing so only to prevent the reputation of the choir that I'm accused to be affiliated with from being hurt. So like I said, it is all just a matter of my opinion. So I apologize for mainly posting on forums regarding Hurricane and for simply being a fan of this group and show choir itself. Thank you for noticing =)

no problem, I almost always do a user search when I see someone with no choir affiliation.

My question is why you're trying to prove he's from Hurricane? In fact, why does it even matter where he's from? If this is his opinion, it's his opinion. And like I said, this was not just his opinion, there were many others who felt the same way that weren't from Hurricane at all. And it doesn't matter whether you were the first person to point it out or not. You're starting a fight that doesn't even need to start in the first place. So please just let it go. If he's from Beavercreek, cool. If he's not, oh well. It doesn't matter either way.
