MOAR.
Serrano Vocal Point: ENTIRE SET :DD
Arcadia Chantieurs: SIEZE THE DAY

IIRC, only songs performed at SoCal are eligible for HOF. May be mistaken though.

Haakon for doing the LIVE FEED for the nation to watch, and introducing the host group.

Now accepting Nominations for the SoCal HALL OF FAME...

Oh! So, that's who was announcing them, I was like who's he? o_O Where's Mr. Atienza? xD

Oh is that what that one page is in the back of the SoCal... the word totally blanked my mind... schedule, pamphlet, or something? Haha, is that what that page was with like the school and song name next to it along with an asterisk for an overall excellent set?

Hall of Fame:

Something from Los Al Xtreme (don't remember song names..sorry; but they were great!)

Oliver Aames Panache: Ballad (with Zachary as Best Male Soloist...)

Los Al Sound FX: Fireflies

Burroughs Powerhouse: City of Delusion, Run

Burbank In Sync: Entire set (except for the random keyboard chord in Any Other World... (ask Brett...)

Haha, so I was hearing a random keyboard note. It must be a lot of pressure playing an instrument for the choirs! >_<

Edit: Changed my post since it double posted my quoting of Mr. Atienza.

...on the other hand... a YouTube clip of In Sync 2010 did prompt Adam to check out Burbank at SCN which, in turn, resulted in his first trip ever to sunny So Cal! So it can go both ways... Just a thought. (But I do agree that YouTube never does a choir justice; seeing the show live is always much better!)

I'll be honest... had Burbank not had the song "Mr. Roboto" in their show, I would have never ventured down to Nashville to see them. It was the only song from seeing them on YouTube that I fell in love with. I would be singing it all the time and didn't really know why. I then said to myself... I really feel that this year is the year to finally see them live.

I'd have to say that this SoCal was one of the BEST we've had in a long time!

THANK YOU ALL for making this 2010 show choir season one of the most memorable!
To Terry, Ana, Damn Damon and Adam for flying out to see Burbank SoCal. It was GREAT to see you with us! Adam is from Iowa.. not Ohio. Sorry Adam. Sorry Damon for my horrible typing skills.

Thank you Massachusetts and Missouri for adding great competition and class to the event! Please come and visit us again soon!

Major props to Burbank and Burroughs for once again making it an EPIC battle between the two GREAT schools in the city of Burbank! Winning by .5, need I say more?

Congrats...
Los Al Boys for winning the Boy's division
Burroughs Girls for your undefeated season,
Brea Girls for tying for first
and BV for ending the season strong and winning AA!

We had almost 3,000+ people there... The friendships and support in that room was overflowing! You just gotta LOVE So Cal Show Choir people!

Haakon for doing the LIVE FEED for the nation to watch, and introducing the host group.

Matt Asano for all his HARD WORK in making SoCal as successful as it is. Great job on the awards video and song too!

V&S Video for their love for SoCal Show Choirs..

Jeff Clark for representing the midwest...

Lance Bass was so GREAT, and the teen paparazzi was in FULL FORCE... Heck some of the moms stormed the judges platform to touch him... you are all crazy. Lance was one of the best Show judges I have ever had. I thought he was spot on. He was laughing most the night and never turned down a photo op or an autograph. He spoke with the crowd at the end and happily gave out trophies too!

Thank you for making Show Choir great everyone!

Now accepting Nominations for the SoCal HALL OF FAME...

And now you know why I fight so extremely hard to keep these shows off of YouTube for as far into the season as possible. It doesn't matter what group it is, YouTube does favors for NO one.

It was great seeing you out on the west coast, Adam! You definitely picked the right one to go to.

I instantly fell in love with the show unlike I did when I watched it on YouTube.

I've tried about three times now to sit down and type out my thoughts on this competition, but have found it very difficult each and every time. I think this being my 13th show choir competition has something to do with it... my brain has most likely melted from all of the epic performances that I have seen this season.

So here we go...

First off- Thank you to everyone who came up and introduced themselves and chatted with me. Everyone was so kind. I was worried that I might feel like an outsider being that I was 1,550 miles from home. But, really... this competition felt like it was set right in the midwest... with a lot of California schools attending. Everyone was so friendly.

Secondly- Congrats to the students and parents of Chula Vista High School for putting on a wonderful competition. It ran without a hitch. Tony Atienza is definitely a true showman... and he didn't disappoint. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality, Tony. It was fantastic finally getting to meet you.

Thirdly- To the parent who yelled at Brett Carroll and I talking in the back corner of the room... once again... I'm sorry. Damn* Brown and Ana Kraemer were just as much to blame. Now you have all four of our names... please feel free to contact our directors.

It was my first time seeing Brea Olinda, Hart, Diamond Bar, Carlsbad, Oliver Ames, and Chula Vista. I'm so glad I can now add them to my "Saw Live" list of show choir.

I must say... I feel the results were dead on. I was really worried that I'd come out to Cali, size up the competition, and then 100% disagree with the results. I'm glad that wasn't the case.

It was such a treat to finally see John Burroughs live. I instantly fell in love with the show unlike I did when I watched it on YouTube. For someone who doesn't know a thing about "Alice In Wonderland"... it made sense to me. I've never seen the movies, shows, read the books, etc. So I'm glad this was my first experience with it. It certainly is a memorable one. I loved the beautiful choreography... the POWERHOUSE vocals that I have come so used to hearing over the years... and just the all together feeling of being at a rock concert while watching the show.

The entire reason I flew out to California to catch SoCal was Burbank "In Sync". Seeing their show live at Nashville moved me beyond anything I've ever seen in show choir. I've seen quite a bit. They did not disappoint at SoCal... they just further added to my level of admiration.
Burbank has such a flawless package- just uber phenomenal vocals, choreo, accompaniment, storyline, soloists, costuming, set pieces, etc. etc. etc. infinity and beyond. The commitment to the lyrics and story being presented is at a level that I feel some professionals in the "biz" will never achieve. I'll say it again... Thank you Brett Carroll for being crazily wise enough to use Joshua Greene's fabulous idea and arrangements on the show choir stage. Thank you In Sync performers for trusting the two crazies and putting your entire hearts and minds into bringing the show life. Thank you April and Damn* for reaching deep down into your little dancer's brains and giving some really fresh and thought-provoking choreography that paired with the music PERFECTLY. Thanks again to Brett Carroll who teaches his kids how to truly SING... now move back to the midwest!
I can never get enough of this show. I ripped the audio from the In Sync performances at Los Al on YouTube right after I saw the show live at Nashville... so currently- Part 1 from Los Al is currently #7 on my Top 25 most played songs... Part 3 is #9... and Part 2 is #12. That says a lot in itself to climb so high on a difficult list to break... Lady Gaga owns 16 of the spots alone. I listen to the show all the time. Why wouldn't I? It is the BEST show choir show I have EVER seen. After over 80 show choir competitions in the last eight years- thousands of show choirs live and on video... this is it. Burbank "In Sync" 2010 - Congrats.

If I never saw a show choir perform again... I think I'd be content. I've seen the best of the best. This was a fantastic way to end a fun run in the show choir world.

Damn* = I don't want to give people the impression that I am dissing Damon, because I am sure that some don't understand the joke. In the SoCal program... every time choreographer extraordinare "Damon Brown" was seen under a show choir's name... it was mistakenly printed as "DAMN Brown".
