Thanks for the scores Ben! I'm gonna remind everyone how the scores are compiled. There are 10 judges- 5 from each center. At Mo-Show we drop the highest and lowest score for each group (so only 8 scores count) and then average that remaining point total. So these are not technically the total scores. To get the actual point differential multiply the final score by 8.
For instance. Danville did not beat Williamsburg by .19 (that's sorta impossible ) They really placed higher by 1.5 points. And Janesville Craig was really over Davenport West by 122.5 points.
The huge surprise of the day for me was Sumner-Fredericksburg. I thought they were just FABULOUS, especially for a 2A school. I figure they could compete with MANY Iowa groups, and I'm very excited to see the future of this group!
I couldn't go anywhere without hearing about how amazing Craig's ballad soloist was. She was fantastic in her jazz solo too (which she also won Best Female Soloist for in the auditorium). What a talent.
Davenport West's ballad was making everyone in the audience cry. My friend Stephanie was bawling. Such a great song!
Xavier's closer had me up and dancing!!! I love that song, the way you perform it, and ESPECIALLY the way you sing it. I knew Pete would love the way you sing because we are very similar in our styles, and I think your vocals are the most. I'm really sad that is the last time I'll see that song live Yay for YouTube. Again, congrats very much on your win. It was a blast watching your show, and joining in the cheers before I announced you
*edit* I've been informed that my scoring guide isn't entirely true I forgot to mention that once the scores are averaged they are also rounded to the nearest one-hundredth. So if you take Xavier's 191.13 and multiply it by 8 you get 1529.04 which obviously isn't right. but 1529 divided by 8 gives you 191.125 which rounds up to 191.13. There would not be a total score that doesn't end in a whole number or a .5 so please feel free to round up or down.
First off I didn't get to see janesville live so I ended up watching it and wow balled soloist soo good, choreography was very nice as well, second I thought your class was outstanding, I was worried early in the day, but you proved me wrong and handled it great. I was the one who stepped away from our pictures and congradulated you guys X)
xavier!! congrats on your win!! i am so sad we didnt get to see you guys perform!! everyone did amazing today.our hosts were amazing!! it was a great way to end my show choir career.
Today was awesome. I loved the laid-back atmosphere and can't imagine a place I'd rather end my show choir competitive career. I must say, Janesville Craig was so incredibly classy following finals announcements that if an outsider had walked in at that moment, he might have thought that they won based on how they were acting. Genuinely happy people with nothing but compliments. I can only hope we exemplify a portion of that class in our defeats. Hats off to the Spotlighters!
Also thanks to all who hosted today. It was a blast!

I'm so excited for tomorrow! I hope everyone has a blast... Mo-Show was always my favorite competition of the year. I can't wait for finals, the energy is just going to be so high, and I know everyone is going to bring their BEST stuff! Good luck to everyone competing tomorrow, I'm very excited to see everyone's performances.
