the carpet down the center of the commons is all wavy like a river, the walls on each side are sandstone, and the bridge goes over the center of the commons and links the two sides of the school together, like a bridge over the river. its supposed to represent hastings and our bridge..
I remember when Waukee came last year the only thing we could say at first was "Holy crap! There's a RIVER inside this school?"
And what's with that creepy doll sitting way up high on the window ledge?
the story of the doll way up in the window in the commns:
once upon a time when the high school was built (in 2001, so not that long ago) the senior class had fun and took the doll from the german room (i think... it could be from somewhere else) and kept placing it in random places in the school. the janitors would then take it and place it even higher somewhere. towards the end of the year, the janitors took the giant ladder thing and put it up there in the windows and the seniors couldn't get it down. its been there since. the end.
i think this is right.. being a senior you would think i would know, but the story's been changed a few times. jacob? is this right? you're the one with older siblings..
older siblings: correct. lol. I think that's right. Otherwise I think it was just the janitors being creepy as always. hahahaha.

There's an all male group but not an all female group? How does that happen?
i can def. answer this one...
totino grace's all male group "the T-Tones" was started in the fall of 2007 when there were not enough people in which signed up for the all girls group "the leading ladies" when it came down to a final decision there were definately not enough girls to maintain a Single-Gender group for the school.
so in the end our directors rolled with the idea of creating an all male group and ran with it when a large number of the male show choir population at the school showed an interest....
hence totino grace has an all male group and not an all female group...

I am excited to see how Mitchell and Totino compete against one another. Both groups have a GC, a best choreo and vocals under their belt... My Alma mater vs. my favorite group while in high school...
I agree. It'll be a good one. It's hard for me to see Totino losing this year. Their vocals are just insane!!! And the show is definitely one-of-a-kind.
All 3 of Totino's groups are coming! These are: the all-male "T-Tones" (also called The Testostertones), the mixed prep group "Encore Singers", and the varsity group "Company of Singers". My friends, that is a LOT of Totino right there. Think Hastings can handle it? ;)

Yah!! Mitchell and TG are going to be intense, but don't forget about Bloomington Kennedy and Waukee! Apparently they both sang the CRAP out of their shows at Waukee. I know that Waukee wasn't competing, but they were amazing!
