In case you didn't know... they were actually beaten twice that year. Two weeks in a row. The second time was at Petal. They were beaten by Albertville in points but then got ranked first. So technically they were beaten there too!

that was only in pre-lims..

Well, as far as that goes, I TOTALLY agree with you. If someone deserves to beat them, then more power to them. I LOVE Clinton, but I agree that Burroughs should have beat them last year (maybe not in 2008 but that's besides the point). However, there was a loss by Clinton in 2008 that will NEVER be totally understood in my mind. That's almost of an example of the reverse side to what you said LoL

I just don't think they live up to their all glorious reputation. They were decent, but with a name like Clinton Attache, I was expecting to be blown the heck out of my seat and I didn't get that.

I also agree with you. I KNOW David Fehr is an amazing director and I know he is passionate about "Attache" and he will do anything in his power to prevent another choir from catching them. My opinion is just the simple fact that if a choir deserves to beat Clinton I hope that the judges at said competition would be unbiased in making their decision.

Prelims.

And I completely disagree with the notion that Clinton is still far and away the best at everything they do. Groups are definitely catching up to them. That doesn't mean they'll take home something other than a GC from a Southern competition any time soon, but at least as far as performances go, I think they're no longer in a class of their own.

I have to disagree with you. However, my views are solely based off of what I get to see on YouTube, so take them with a grain of salt on this one. I watched Tupelo this year, Enterprise from their SCN Grand Championship year, Albertville from this year (all in a row), and it just seems that Clinton is on an entirely different level. You cen feel it in the performance and see it visually and even vocally now. Clinton has more power and passion this year and I have a feeling that after the past couple of years, Mr. Fehr might have reflected on them as a whole and maybe wanted to take things in a slightly different direction.

For people that say everyone is catching them, do you think Clinton is just going to stand still and not try to outdo themselves and the rest of the competition that is 'catching' them? For me, Clinton is still the face of show choir. And I would like to ask this not wanting a snarky answer, just an honest one: why is the rest of show choir catching Clinton and will pass them?

Completely agree and with all due respect to "Attache," their director, choreographers, etc... I hope sometimes within the next few years a southern competition will have unbiased judges and a group will rank higher than them.

I agree with Drew. Clinton is a very amazing group full of very professional individuals; however, sooner or later a southern group will catch up to them. At Homewood Tupelo was only 4 points away from them.

I'm sorry, but I cannot let Attache be put down like they are an average show choir. Their sound is untouched in purity in strength. Where most people sound like young men and young women, they sound like professional singers. There choreography is perfect and for me, there are very few groups who perform with real emotion anymore. The fact is Clinton is the best group in the South period. No one down here will ever beat them because no one can match their professionalism, vocals, or choreography.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Everyone knows that Attache' will NEVER be beaten by a southern group.

attache wins solely on technical merit and working the score sheet. they are robots, but technically near perfect robots. keep doing what you're doing, the tide is changing in the show choir world and in the long run, you'll be years ahead to perform your way rather than being whipped into submission.

I thought everyone did a great job last night and the results came out perfectly. Pascagoula and South Jones were really impressive. Sadly I didn't get to see Auburn, but I did hear some good things about them and Congrats on the high placement. Tupelo was amazing like always. The whole show was creative and well put together. The closer was the best of the night, I thought. Clinton was great like alway. The opener was crazy. I wish I could have seen Petal, Opelika, and Northeast in the finals. Overall a great contest.

No, it sounds like somebody's upset with the restrictive, self-infatuated bureaucracy of show choir in general - the same bureaucracy that is the reason why people feel like they have to make anonymous accounts in order to express their honest opinions.

They are not the only one.

AMEN!!!!!
