i agree, id be shocked if wsd didnt make finals.

That would be scary, man I am pumped for this COMP! this is for real! There are so, so many awesome groups here, I mean isn't that why we compete, to see where we stack up among the best, and one thing is for sure... This competition has some GREAT choirs, I simply can not wait.

I met quite a few Glenwood kids at SCA this year. Very nice kids!

Just checked the handy Choirs page and saw that Glenwood competed at Danville last weekend. They took 2nd to Manteno in the intermediate mixed division

One group that isn't getting as much buzz as I thought they would is Glenwood. Is this their first competition of the season? If I remember right, Jeff Gemar, former Mount Zion director, is now in I believe his second (or third?) year there... I am really looking forward to seeing what he has done with them.

This is their second year competing, I believe. I saw them last year and they were pretty solid!

That was in 2008 actually. I loved that show!

I wouldn't count out CR Jefferson either... they have a GC and a 1RU already!

here's what it looks like:

GC Xavier "Xhilaration" (could be stripped of Grand Champions easily.)
1RU Sioux City East "Headliners" (possible (BV), took second with Best Vocals at Fame LA last year.)
2RU Lin Mar could upset first or second place
3RU Iowa City West could make a Lin Mar upset
4RU Lincoln Southwest "Resonance" (from their reputation they should make finals)
5RU Up in the air for anyone to grab

I agree... they definitely have the potential to do well here. I would say work on vocals, just producing sound, and putting energy into the 2nd song. Idk if there is some way to bump up band sound? or put a funky drum beat in there to create more energy? idk.

I have them placed low because 3 of these groups have GCs this year (Xavier, East, and Jefferson). Linn-Mar is the only group to have placed higher than Xavier in any round, so they should be included as well. And since both East and IC West beat Southwest at Westside, that is why I have the predictions the way I do.

I talked to some of the kids yesterday, and that's all they're focusing on this week are those two songs. Hopefully it pays off! I know they're all aware that there's a really good chance they won't make finals, so they're working pretty damn hard.

Seeing SW at their competition, I think they have what it takes to make finals and do pretty well. Even though their middle songs are a let down, they really have cleaned it up a lot and make it all count.

Good luck to all groups at this comp.

I'm really excited to see Linn-Mar again at this competition. Their show was really entertaining at Viterbo, and its great 'cus it should work out so I can see them during daytimes and possibly finals too!

Well Adam's Muscatine vid has a bit of the band in the opener. That was a big part of the opener. It was like Dwight + ballroom.... Very high energy, good pictures, interesting, big. The second song is a letdown, IMO

O, I LOVE his work!
