he is. i just didnt feel the need to comment back. I remember thinking it was totally the opposite of what i thought it should've been. i personally liked Jeff's choreo more and Prairie's vocals more.
you are right. Jefferson got 2nd GCS got 3rd. im not sure about captions.
WSD and ambassadors were tied and ambassadors won with best band. WSD got best vocals i think and ambassadors got best chreo, or the other way around.
Does anyone know who got GC at this competition in 2008 (in other words, the year before last year)? I can remember all the other years but that one.
2003 Fort Atkinson
2004 Mt. Zion
2005 La Crosse Central
2006 Totino-Grace
2007 La Crosse Central
2008 ??
2009 Cedar Rapids Prairie
I found a random Google Groups page with a schedule... I am guessing it was probably La Crosse Central, Cedar Rapids Jefferson, Fort Atkinson, Cedar Rapids Prairie, Milton, or Eau Claire Memorial.
Well That is going to bumb up this topic, man I can NOT WAIT for this competition, it is going to rock so much! GRRR I can't wait YAY! Oh and by the way this is going to be an awesome competition, the lineup is epic!
Well I'm going to do a bit of predicting to bump up the topic... and since when did predictions hurt any? I can honestly say I've never gotten a prediction right.
GC: Cedar Rapids Jefferson "West Side Delegation"
1RU: Cedar Rapids Prairie "The Ambassadors"
2RU: Milton "Choralation"
3RU: Sauk Prairie "Executive Session"
4RU: Eau Claire "Old Abe Show Choir"
5RU: John Hersey "On Stage"
Best Vocals: Cedar Rapids Prairie "The Ambassadors"
Best Choreography: Milton "Choralation"
Best Band: Cedar Rapids Jefferson or Sauk Prairie
I actually found this really hard to do. A lot of these groups are evenly matched. I think a lot of it depends on Sauk's show and how the judges perceive it and how well they perform it. This prediction reflects more what the judges thought last year, but I don't know who the judges were and who they are this year. Milton's director is doing his last Choralation show, so I'm sure we are all in for a big treat. I think their vocals could get beat in this group of competitors.
I love Jefferson's new director and I think he did amazing things with Ovation last year. And with Mr. Dyrland as part of your creative team, you can't go wrong! I'm very excited to see this show. As for Prairie, I am a huge fan of Mike Weaver's choreography. But for some reason I have a feeling their vocals are REALLY going to shine through. Jefferson and Sauk Prairie always have great bands. It really depends on how the judges perceive Sauk's show... it really does. At Milton 06, Jefferson won best band in day round but Sauk had the most band points in finals.
I remember last year Prairie's prep group was undefeated, and Ovation had a fantastic year also. This should be a great prep matchup!
Glad to know that you like it. I was a student during the first and second Silver Stage Invitationals (2003 and 2004) and volunteered at the fourth, in 2006.
I probably won't be there myself, but it's good to hear that it's acquired a good reputation.
Oh well thanks, your students and parents really are great, and I would just like to say again thanks for hosting such a good competition, and I am pumbed I have never seen Onalaska before!
Im just curious because this competition is amazing! Who's going?
