that's not the "Fair Fehr" system. You look at the rankings each group receives and when there is an general agreement on placings you give it to them... For instance:

Central received 3 1's and no one topped that so they would get 1st
Xavier had 4 2's and so they'd get 2nd
Valley had 5 3's so... 3rd

then it gets trickier

Dowling got 4 6ths so they would be placed 6th
Bloomington Kennedy had 3 5th places so they would probably be placed 5th
Muscatine is left with an overall rankings that average very close to 4th 2 3 4 4 5 5

with the FF system you'd get Central, Xavier, Valley, Muscatine, Kennedy, Dowling (although Muscatine and Kennedy were SUPER close in pretty much every way you look at it)

You're wrong. Under the Fehr Fair system Xavier would have won. The FF system is based on majority voting. Central got 3 out of 6 first place votes, which is not a majority. Therefore you go to the next step, compare Central and Xavier alone, and 3 judges have Xavier before Central. Tied. Therefore go to the next step, look at both first and second place votes. All 6 judges had Xavier in first or second, only 3 judges had Central in first or second, therefore Xavier wins.

Congrats to everyone who competed here! I have heard great things about many groups and shows! Also so proud of Bloomington Kennedy- can't wait to rehearse with you guys on Monday

Also, congrats to Muscatine, its such an honor to choreograph you and thanks for pushing yourselves in our rehearsal on Friday, this just proves hard work and determination pay off!

So great to hear so many wonderful comments about Muscatine's opener!

Yeah everyone... our opener would not be half as great without the wonderful choreography by Mr. Kevin Chase. Thanks again Kevin! See you in what... 5 days? haha

You will never hear me say this again.... But maybe the "Fair Fehr" system would've have been better to use here.

This competition is interesting because it's not a typical "one judge ruining everything" outcome. What I mean by that is it's not as if a group received 111116 rankings. Also, it's not simply one group that has "interesting" results. Muscatine was placed from 2nd to 5th... Bloomington Kennedy from 1st to 5th... and of course Davenport Central from 1st to 6th. I think this shows that each judge had a different idea of what they wanted, and that all of these groups in finals at Waukee were truly in the running.

I think we're too used to there being clear delinations between groups at competitions. Sometimes it just isn't so, and I think that these results illustrate that.

It was all over the place. The one judge who had us 8th in the day had us 4th at night. haha

The only groups that seem to be remotely consistent in those rankings are Xavier and Valley. Everyone else has a range of at least three placements... or, in CSI's case, six! Very close competition

Wow. The scores for us, Muscatine, and Bloomington Kennedy are so incredibly jumbled. I hope I find out soon why Tom Gerking and Kevin(?) ManGold weren't big fans of our show, so that way we can make it so they will like it

Wow... that is some kind of messed up....

Central gets 3 1sts and 2 6ths???? It's not surprising that the two 6th places came from two judges who I have found to be sorta incompetent over the years...
