Yes... but I find once scores are posted... discussion dies out immediately. So... I'll wait. I want to hear thoughts on all of the shows.

What are everyones thoughts on 4th Ave. Jazz?
All the versions of "The Distance You Have Come" were really fun to see! I can't wait to see everyone again later this year! Congrats to all the groups!!!

I am fairly confident that quote belongs to Spencer Hughes. Although I heard it at least 6 times throughout the day lol.

Xuberance's opener is also Kennedy's Happiness second number. It is "I'm Alive" from "Next to Normal". Choreographed by Cris Crisler.

I sent Cris a text in the day telling him what a great job he did. The group was soooo great!

Thank you to the posts about Iowa City West. We felt that we did a good job, but of course our position in the line up as well as simply our own mistakes (taps, Move, etc.) just ended up biting us in the butt. What will be, will be, and it's no one's fault but our own!

Also, awesome job to EVERYONE. Wow! Great competition.

Iowa City High: of course I don't have a fresh perspective on this because I've seen your show before, but it was the cleanest I think I've ever seen it. You guys did really well.

And nothing that no one has said before but Davenport Central, the people I was sitting around and I were all dying during the Facebook piece. So good.

Can't wait for the rest of the season, good luck to all!

A mix of "Space Dementia" by MUSE and "Going Under" by Evanescence.

On the long trip home last night, myself and one of the other directors of Muscatine were discussing our favorite songs of the day (Keep in mind I saw Waukee, Xavier, West Des Moines Valley, Davenport Central, Dowling Catholic, Iowa City West, Indianola, Papillion La Vista, Blue Vibes, City Lights, Kennedy Girls, and Xuberance. We BOTH came to the conclusion that the opener to Xavier "Xuberance" was our favorite show choir song of the whole day. Props!

A few of my thoughts...

1) It is an absolute joke and a CRIME that Iowa City West was not in finals. I can honestly say I had them predicted as top 2 after day rounds. In my humble opinion they sang better than every group during daytime (except Xavier) and their choreography was as clean as anyone else. All the people I sat by while watching your show was like "I can't wait to see that again tonight". I am so sorry you didn't get through.

2) Davenport Central. I love the show just wish it wasn't so long! I can't wait to see how you develop and grow throughout the season.

3) Muscatine. Favorite song of the day goes to your opener. I didn't really understand what was going on with the whole transformation thing during the day rounds, but at night it really made sense and was really cool. I can't wait to see your show again. Also, I have to give a shout out to your guy dancer that was front center for opener. He was easily one of the top 3 dancers of the entire competition.

4) Valley. My head hurt after the closer. I felt there was too much going on and didn't understand why the girl in front center was doing different choreo then everyone else. however, I can say you are some true performers.

5) Bloomington Kennedy. I had you in second after night rounds. Your improvement from day to night was the greatest in my opinion. You sang really well and your choreo was so clean. I happened to be sitting by some of your parents for night round and they were also some of the nicest people. I feel bad you ended in fourth.

Congratulations everyone on a great competition. I had never been to Waukee and i thuroughly enjoyed it. a couple thoughts:

Central- wow. well i guess i shouldnt have expected anything less from you guys. I was thoroughly entertained by your show from top to bottom, though as im sure you would expect, the one i remember the best is the facebook song. So clever. Also, i thought you guys had the best rendition of "The Distance You Have Come" that I saw all day (I saw 4 different versions...). Anyways, great job. Can't wait to see you again at Mt. Pleasant.

Bloomington Kennedy- I always forget how much i enjoy watching Jarad Voss' choreography until i watch a fantastic group like yourself do it. It has such flow, and i just find it to be original and refreshing. He definitely did not hold anything back in choreographing for you, I'll tell you that. Congrats, and good luck on the rest of your season.

Valley- It is hard for me to remember the first half of your show because, at least for me, the closer was just so mind boggling. I do remember being impressed by the cleanliness of the choreo in the first 2 numbers, and I also thought your tone was great through out. But i would have to agree with Taylor on the lack of dynamic shift. Great tone, but a tone that sometimes comes off lack luster because we hear the same thing for 20 minutues. Overall, another great performace.

Muscatine- All i can say was that your opener was unebelievable. By far my favorite song of the day (speaking of which...i dont even know what song it is. what is it?) From the performers starting out in the audience, to the choreography as they started moving down the risers...just so good. loved it.
