I did not get to see Iowa City High yesterday because I was changing out of my outfit into my regular clothes (which also prevented me from seeing Muscatine. Grrr). I'm sure that I'll be seeing you guys at Great River and Mt. Pleasant though!

Hahaha! I'll see you there!

Hi! Just wondering what your thought were on Iowa City High! Congrats on your finish also!

This one was a blast!
My thoughts

Xavier- Bravo! You guys had a stellar show. "The Distance You Have Come" was absolutely fantastic. However, I feel like your guys show drags in the middle of it. I like the ballad and "Old Red Hills of Home" but I feel that it slows the show down a lot and I feel there's gotta be more in there. The closer was magnificent, but you guys sounded tired at times. Overall a job incredibly well done. Congrats!

Valley- I'm not sure exactly what to say about this show. I looovvvveeeeddd the opener, and the second song was a nice contrast from the opener. However, throughout your guys shows in both day and night round, the only dynamic changes I got from you are mf-fff. You have a beautiful tone and awesome blend, but the dynamics are either not present or not emphasized at all. Also, this is the first time I've ever said that Mike did "too much" in his choreography (aka the 4th song dance break. Those who were there know what I'm talking about). I look forward to seeing you guys at Wheaton-Warrenville and seeing how much you have grown

Lewis Central- OMG I felt so bad for you guys. You were performing Stephen's choreo so well, and the singing was going decent. Then the risers started falling apart. I wish I could see your guys' show again without the built-up risers so that I could watch the last two songs without you guys worrying about the risers coming apart and with all the heart you had in the first 3 songs. You showed great professionalism and handled the situation very well

Iowa City West- I really feel like you guys should have been in finals. Imo you guys sang way to good to miss finals. You were for the most part clean, but the taps need some work, of course that's something that's always gonna be a bugger. The only thing vocally is that there was no contrast in "Move" from your other songs; it was sung a lot like the other songs in your set instead of having sort of an attitude about it. Overall a very good performance and I can't wait to see you guys at Great River!

Waukee- Wow! That is all I have to say about your guys' show. Waukee is an incredibly talented group and boy do those kids have some pipes! I can't really imagine liking any version of "Jai Ho" than your guys because I was in love with it. Can't wait to watch you guys next week at North!

Just wanted to thank everyone at Waukee for putting on such a great competition. What a beautiful school to be able to host us with!

I too loved CSI's Facebook/Twitter/etc. novelty number! Very much looking forward to seeing it again at Mount Pleasant or Kennedy (or Great River). I thought Bloomington Kennedy's choreography was the most effective I saw all day. Jarad Voss really gave them great stuff. Valley looks to be improved, and their show is definitely out there and different from what you'd expect! Definitely check them out if you have the chance. The best thing of the whole day, I thought, was Muscatine's opener. I have never been so drawn in to a show choir song before. It was, in the words of a fellow Xhilaration member, "epic".

All in all, it was a great competition filled with some very talented groups to watch. I felt bad for Lewis Central as well, but from what I heard they handled it very professionally. And how about Waukee's jazz choir? Wow!

I was extremely impressed by the class shown by both the choir and the audience when that happened. They really had no choice but to stop, someone was going to get hurt, I was on the edge of my seat. It's a good thing everyone came out of that mess without any injuries.

By the way: Kennedy's Facebook song was probably the hardest I've laughed in a while. Great job to them.

You mean Davenport Central's facebook song.

Congrats to everyone! I really enjoyed watching you all. Xavier it was so nice to see you again. I haven't seen you since I was about 13. Big props to LEWIS CENTRAL. Who kept on going even when the risers were falling apart. Even bigger props when you kept your act together after the judges had to stop the show so that your director and crew could hold the risers together while you danced. I really respect you guys for that. Thanks to everyone for coming out.
