Wow! So I am just going to rank the prep groups that I saw! They were all amazing though, these are just my opion:

1) cedar rapids Kennedy "protoge"
2) linn-mar "in step" they were in exhibition, but I thought they were amazing!!
3) urbandale "vitality"

•sorry celebration, I didn't get the chance to see you guys, but I absolutely love your t-shirts!!

Great job everybody!!
I'll stay on top of keeping everybody updated.

P.s. If you have immediate questions, p.m. me on here and maybe I will give you my number or something and you can just text me.

I think im gonna cry.... another Mo person who gets info from DK....

Your reign has ended Mr. Burken
sorry to witness this tragic event.

Good luck to all groups. The wonderful crew of Totino Grace was in the mall here in cedar rapids last night and saw Brian, Mr. Voss and I think its your band director? Still depressed there was no Ana.

Can't wait to see Kevin!

ok thats what i remembered too. i can do placements on a sheet of paper, but i find that if you actually break apart the different elements of the show, some groups do better than you think.

for instance at Big Dance 2005, I had Urbandale placed WAYYYYYY higher than I would've just through a placing system.

I agree with this, competitions take note. We want score sheets.

Jay,
I am thinking that the program had a "you be the judge" thing in it, but I don't think it was a score sheet. I am thinking it was more just a placement sheet.

Mr. Anderson (or anyone else that can answer),

I'm sure this is too late and you probably won't be on, but is there a place where we can get scoresheets? I feel like sitting in the aud and scoring all the groups. It always surprises me how I score differently than I actually feel about the shows.

This contest looks great. I think that it makes sense for Protege to go after lunch break, however I could see them being at the tail-end of the prep blocks before lunch.

Mr Temple, Waterloo West has only been competing for two years. They are a group with immense talent and a great director. They should be competing for a finals spot. SuFaWa (or Sioux Falls Washington) is a former Damon group (this shows my age). I saw them at Great River last year and felt that they sang well and performed the heck out of their show. I found their show to be very memorable and entertaining.

A bit late, but SuFaWa's show last year was my favorite show of all time. It was risky but the kids performed to entertain.. It was absolutely fantastic.
