I must say I am VERY impressed with Dekalb, they are really beastly so far this year!!!

Fairfield is a totally different choir in finals than in prelims. I don't think any choir in the nation can step it up like they can!

Will someone give a breakdown of shows? Who's doing what? What'd they wear? Anyone take photos?

Here are all the photos taken at the competition.

False information

Like I said... "I heard"... I didn't confirm that these were correct.

Congrats to Fairfield and Dekalb! I heard you two really brought your A-game!

It is NOT unheard of for the Grand Champions to win without snagging a caption.

I heard day round was-

1st- Dekalb
2nd Fairfield
3rd- Center Grove

According to what I was given, daytime scores went:

Dekalb 687
Center Grove 686
Fairfield 683.5

Congrats to all the choirs for a great showing!

Please, somebody with scoresheets let us know whats going on...I'm sort of lost.

So is it that during the day, DeKalb was at best visual and CG had best vocals, but it was miscalculated and thus announced as CG/Fairfield? If so, then what does that have to do with Fairfields finals show? Maybe DeKalb and CG had their best shows in the morning and Fairfield pulled it out during finals.

This is why EN has a computer and people checking every single calculation...if there is ever a mistake, it should be caught well in advance of anything being announced.

Did this happen last year? I remember having this same type of discussion about miscalculated scores...does anybody remember?

I believe it happened at Huntington North to Northrop. Or something very similar happened to Northrop at Huntington. Congrats to all the schools out this early!

This is why music majors shouldn't be trusted to do math.

OK-Let's get this straight

End of day:

FF won best vocal-OOPS not really-CG won
CG won best visual-OOP not really-DK won

Finals:

FF wins-No caption
DK-1st runner up
CG-2nd runner up

What miscalculation was made? FF and CG tied for B Voc ? and CG and DK tied for B Vis.? According to participation plaque-DK was ahead overall? Really! Where does that put CG and DK really at the end of the day? Who knows! The judges and the director took care of that? How?

For anyone who has access to the score sheets tell us this-How many judges had a certain school-no wait-ask showfoshow-in first place? Well it wasn't the "elite program"!

Let's call a spade a spade. This was one of the worst run contests I have ever attended, and for the MC to try and white wash the miscalculation-it was truely an insult to show choir.

DeKalb and Center Grove got the "Royal Screw Job, but at least the elite program won!
