Y'know, it is rather insulting that a lot of people are saying how we don't deserve our GC. Honestly, the last few years have not been good, but this year we have MAJORLY stepped it up. So, let us enjoy our moment in the spotlight, and we'll see you all at State ;)

Amen. It's incredibly rude to completely dismiss a group like people have done to you guys. It's different when a people say they had you in 2nd instead of first, but what people are saying is much worse than that.

The difference in score between Carroll and North Central overall was 1.1 points, and NC beat us by only .5 points in vocals. I can't remember the exact total scores, but both groups were in the 170's.

I would really like to see the judges scores to see just how close this one was. Also, sequinlover, you need to associate yourself with a choir to post on this site.

Carroll is doing fantastically well this year and I'm very proud of them. They've stepped it up this year. I didn't expect them to do this well at this competition, but I'm not shocked. They have improved greatly this year from previous years and hopefully they are able to continue this streak of excellence, both this year and in years to come.

To clear up any misconceptions, both stated and not, Minstrel Magic was 2nd place to North Central after the day show, and were in 2nd by only a point or two. They then were able to clinch the GC on choreography. It was a very close competition, but Carroll didn't get it out of nowhere and they didn't have a junk show. They have created a show that is not only technically strong, but is also entertaining. Opinions obviously vary, but I would caution everybody to not base their thoughts on if a competition was "right" or "fair" based on their preconceived opinion of whom a choir should or should not beat, especially if you weren't there. I cannot personally comment on this week's performances since I wasn't there, but in any case, preconceived reputation is not everything.

Okay so explain something to me....what groups from around Ft. Wayne are rising to the top? When a group is "rising to the top" it means they are consistently good for many years...tell me what Ft. Wayne groups are consistently good not including Dekalb or Huntington...Indy schools are consistently good

I think people are making too much from Cody's post. I believe he's just expressing joy of this one competition. It's good for us "Actual" Fort Wayne choirs (Northrop, Carroll, Homestead, Luers, Dwenger, and Northside) to know that one of our own can place well against some of the big dogs from Indy.

Obviously, it's difficult to begin to compare Indy and Indy suburb schools with anywhere else in the state, or even the MidWest. The concentration of top notch programs in and around Indianapolis might not be rivaled anywhere else. Hence why us FW people take pride when one of us does so well there.

Way to go Carroll! It is a really great show this year and your are performing better each week. That was really stiff competition and you should be proud of yourselves. Best of luck for the rest of the season!

Ok let me redo this, Upper Indiana is getting a great name for themselves and is rising to the tops like lower Indiana has already accomplished.

Wow go Carroll, Stepping it up for Fort Wayne, its like were becoming the new indy, Out with the arm-ography and in with the actuall singing and dancing with all limbs.

But I love Fairfield

Without armography it wouldn't be show choir, that's what is the coolest about show choir. it's the SHOW part of it. and for the record i've seen carroll live, and they use just as much armography as Fairfield or any other group.

I also loved Fairfield's show. The only way I can think that they could have lost to any group here is if they were looking forward to the huge contest next weekend and were not focused on competing.

I also love fairfield and they lost last week at Center grove as well. i would hope that two weekends in a row they were not more worried bout their own contest...

I wanted to say thank you to all the groups who made yesterday and Friday a success. This was a very great, but tiring weekend. A special thanks to Ben Davis which is the group I hosted. You all were amazing, I still really love your show. You kicked it up something fierce in finals. Thanks for making it a great weekend, and I hpefully will see you at state. Good luck, your host Grant.

Woah05, i like you we think a lot alike. But come on you really need to associate yourself or anything you say is automatically a stupid comment. (Im kidding) Jorge SC.com need to make a rule that you can only comment on a topic in your state. Did you ever think that maybe I like show choir just as much as you? You are from Iowa but you still know stuff about IN. Maybe I'm the same way.

But look at what you said in your post. Adam does NOT know enough about Indiana show choirs to make statements like you did. You would have to be a part of the Indiana show choir circuit to make statements like... all other Ft Wayne choirs are crap besides luers and somehow carroll. i mean come on. do you really think we are that stupid?

I think he is still waiting for you to indulge us with information about your show choir's history. Never heard of your show before.
And it is REQUIRED to be associated with a choir when posting on the fourm, while you may mock the rules, it is still a rule.
