I was at the competition today.

Burroughs was quite impressive. The judges faces afterwards were insane. I saw one judge try to stand up, fall back get back up and cover his mouth in shock at how incredible it was.

Clinton was okay during the day. Not incredible. At night, however. It was a brand new show choir. They were polished and great.

Center Grove was my favorite all day. I would not have been surprised to see them win the competition.

I disagree. I feel as though Powerhouse was trying too hard to be more artistic than last year, or the year before and it was getting in the way of their show. It was just too much. I really feel that Clinton deserved the win at Fairfield today, and I thought Center Grove actually had a better show than Burroughs

I agree that Clinton was better today but no way do I agree that PH was trying so hard to be extra "artistic". Did you see powerhouse of 07?08?09? Way more theatrical performances. ESP the circus show of 2008? In any case I pray that PH attempts to be even more "artistic" next year because I'm sick of choirs doing the same boring thing year after year after year.

If you wanna say You didn't like PH because they're vocals or Chor. I could understand, but to say you didn't like them for being too "artistic" makes zero sense

I'm floored by these results. Burroughs blew away prelims and finals and still lost? Even though I can understand that people would be put off by the weird art direction, the level of art and complexity in their show is just astounding. and we all know that east coast judges absolutely LOVE the traditional broadway stuff. Attache was good, i'll admit, but they just didn't have that effect on me like Powerhouse's show did. sure, it's weird, but even from a technical standpoint, they are in a class of their own. If Clinton would start going the route that Powerhouse's shows have, THEN we'd have a real rivalry. But until Nationals, i'm gonna stand by my belief that Powerhouse really won.
And by the way, I'm a fan of both schools, and i hold nothing against Clinton at all. This is just my honest belief of who put on the best show, and as much as i love and respect Attache, I would have to give this one to Powerhouse.

I Agree with you FSUAlmuni2014 I though John Burroughs show was way more affected then Clinton show. Clinton didn't WOW me either like John Burroughs did.... I was very disappointed to John Burroughs didn't when but that how the Cookie crumbles sometimes!

Congratulations to all the wonderful Groups that made finals!

Having seen Powerhouse multiple times this year I didn't think this was the best I've seen them. I thought Attache was just a bit more clean than Powerhouse and that's what won it for them. Well deserved Clinton!

But for those of you that were here that are going to SCN you are in for a real treat. I still strongly believe that If In Sync were here they would have won and it wouldn't have been close. Man I wish attache could compete rather than host SCN.

Thanks to Jeff Clark and, basically, the whole city of Fairfield for their great hospitality. I've never been anywhere where the show choir art form is so supported than I have at Fairfield. The day was crazy and full of fantastic performances that everyone should be proud of. I'm tired and need to sleep for my ten hour drive home tomorrow, so I'll gush then. Congratulations to everyone!

I'll try and convince Mr. Reese to get them at Great River 2011!!

Haha if you can make it happen I'm sure we'd all be grateful lol! But I'd rather have them come back out here next time. As well as some more Mid West groups! We send our best to the mid west it's time you guys do the same!! Lol

watching Marysville again, and think Colrain and Piqua were definately better. I would have put both of them in front of Lawrence Central as well. In any case, congrats to the finalists.

Totally agree! That is why I predicted Piqua over Marysville! I figured it would be a near toss up between the two, but felt stronger about the overall effect of Piqua.

Congrats to everyone! and Thanks Haakon for allowing all of us to watch the competition online! Besides some of the glitches, it was great. =D

hurray for opportunities! I'm so glad I got to watch the whole thing!

I thought about not watching awards, because i don't care how anyone placed, since I was entertained ALL day! but then that goofy trophy intro sucked me in.. =p

everyone was fantastic! I love show choir.

Congrats Attache! Well deserved! Congrats to Powerhouse as well way to represent So Cal. Get home safe and i can't wait to see you at Hart!

This is turning into quite a friendly but extremely competetive rivalry. So now you guys are all tied at 2-2. With 08 and 09 going to Powerhouse and 05 and 10 going to Attache and each group finishing 1ru to the other each time! Wow so intense!! I think I speak for us all when I say please compete next year for round 5!!!

You know, I thought Lawrence Central would have placed higher; I really enjoyed their show.

Trouble is you were in the minority.

Thank Haakon for setting this up for everybody, I'm sure everybody appreciated this oppurtunity you gave us.
