I honestly didn't like Clinton's vocals last year. I like them this year from what I've seen on youtube. Comparing them and Burroughs on youtube I give the edge to Clinton. Burroughs just seems like they might be too far out of left field for Midwest judging
not sure what constitutes "midwest judging", as i'm quite sure that fairfield's scoresheet looks nothing like the one used for ISSMA contests. and this judging panel has definitely seen enough show choir in their day to adjudicate fairly, regardless of how far in "left field" a group might seem.
fyi: not sure if it's changed, but last i checked, the fairfield scoresheet broke down as follows:
vocals - 110
choreo - 50
combo - 30
show - 50
very much looking forward to this contest... too bad totino & waubonsie couldn't make a last minute appearance.
(edit - i've been told the breakdown is different now, not sure of total points per category:
vocals - 40%
choreo - 30%
show - 20%
combo - 10%
not sure if i like how vocals are outweighed by just choreo & show combined. and choreo & combo are equal to vocals?
Yes I did say I have seen neither live, But You can compare bad quality cameras for both choirs videos on youtube. JB can overthrow majorily with vocals. Yes it is hard to compare centergrove, their vocals are not as strong this year, their choreo is and they will fight for second with clinton after a long thought I believe Clinton's choreo can push them an advantage with the judges, but I believe their vocals will be their disadvantage when burroughs steps on stage and their show takes part.
Besides, Burroughs is on top of vocals where ever they go. I do not usually see them lose vocals.
But you JUST said that you havn't seen Clinton this year live. Or Center Grove. Or John Burroughs. How...do...you...think...these...things? No offense, but hows do you know that CG is too vocally powerful for Clinton. Sorry man, but you don't really have anything to base these bold conclusions off of. No offense, but...

I don't even understand how people can be predicting actual outcomes of this event. My head hurts when I consider all of the possibilities. I do have a prediction for finals though:

Marysville
Clinton
John Burroughs
Center Grove
Lawrence Central
I'm on the fence with EEE and Marysville, but I gave it to Marysville because I like their vocal tone better than Eisenhower. However, I have yet to see either of them, so I'm guaranteed to be wrong.
disagree, Powerhouse is to much of a Powerhouse for Clinton to beat, and Center Grove will vocally blow Clinton out give CG to Burroughs and 1ru to Center Grove. Burroughs unique show combined with their spectacular vocals and choreo will wn them GC, and I am actually going to make a new prediciton on captions, I will change Vocals and Choreo, Vocals will be Burroughs because of there acapella, and choreo will be between Center Grove and Clinton, and I will let Clinton fight for Second, but Burroughs will win GC

I wouldn't call it that big of an upset. You just never know what is going to happen year to year. Hart beat Clinton a few years ago, people saw that as a huge upset. I think that competitions like this, reputation can get thrown out the window. It is going to be an amazing day!
And by the way...When was the last time Center Grove competed against Clinton or John Burroughs?
I wish I could come down and watch this competition. The Titans of Show Choir will definitely be clashing this weekend.

Agreed, Never in my life will I say Clinton is abad group, They are like pros at this, but so is burroughs, and burroughs show is better set and twist your mind much much more. It makes you wanna look at everything different. Compared to Clinton, Burroughs will take them. No Offence to Clinton.
