This is actually the third year in a row that Burbank has won SoCal.
I still disagree. Burbank show was kind of kooky, I thought. I don't think I've ever thought of "Lose Yourself" as a song that can be done for show choir, and I still don't think it should ever be done. Plus I also feel that Burroughs vocals and energy were much better than Burbank's.
Last year I thought that Burbank should have won, and they did.
I think Burroughs should have walked away with the GC
Burbank has actually won the SoCal invitational since 2005. Check it out, it's on Chula Vista's website.
He's implying that Burbank's given the same show year in and year out, and they always win over Burroughs' well thought out shows that portray art. Interesting. Do your homework. Year in and year out burbank is different, and while there may be certain elements that tend to stay with them, their show is art never the less. I would be very careful with my words if i were you. Strip away the lights, the fancy get ups, the props, the flashy air cannons, and I am fairly sure you'll see it the way the judges saw it tonight. Burroughs is fantastic and no one is taking away from that, but Burbank is also a fierce competitor and no one should be taking that glory away, not when it was earned fair and square. Burbank was pretty flawless tonight, i hate to break it to you but no one was robbed.
Well, bells and whistles rules the day two years in a row. It's unfortunate that a performance stuffed to the gills beats purer artistry for a second time, but that has seemed to be the name of the game this season (and for many seasons, I'm sure).
Ahh well, both Burroughs and Burbank gave technically great performances. One choir's set amounted to something more than song and dance, and the other seemed like an imitation, but congrats to all of the performers.

What is this implying?
Go Burbank! What a surprise victory for you! John Burroughs, your show was spectacular and nothing short of amazing. But Burbank stepped it up and brought home the turkey, not to worry though, there is always next year! The city of Burbank, California should be very proud of this honor! 2009 was a fantastic year for both Burbank and John Burroughs and ultimately both of you ended up on top. Now can someone get these performances from SoCal up on youtube a.s.a.p???! I am dying to watch them again! Someone must have this!
