Top 6 make finals. It will be interesting. This will prbably be one of the tougher Viking Cups I've experienced.

I'm just really excited to see all these choirs and see the compitition from different states. I looked up all the larger schools on youtube and I couldn't find anything so it should be realy exciting to watch.

Does anybody know what the cut off is for a and aa class is? I'm just curious.

I appreciate your confidence in Xavier - since I am one of the costume moms (and the mom of the guy who does the let it be solo) I am a little biased (ok - a lot biased) and would love to see them be Grand Champs...but just want to remind everyone that sometimes it depends on the judges and what they like...it is never in the bag...we had been doing well last year, but our final competition was far away from our area and even though we won some of the major caption awards we got 3rd place. Every year we seem to get the critique judge who says...will the judges like pie or cake? I just want to wish everyone good luck and to remind our group that on any given day a group can step it up so they should give it everything they have...because the judges may like pie, but even if the judges like pie and our show is cake - we can still give them the best cake they have ever had!

I love how everyone is checking out their chances against Xavier.

This competition is in the bag for them, I believe.

Im not sure JLP would probably no though so how do you (Xavier) feel about your season so far?

We feel very good! Coming off two grand championships is a pretty nice feeling, and placing ahead of great groups like Johnston, Sauk Prairie, Sioux City East, Lincoln Southwest, and C.R. Jefferson feels pretty good too... You can see our entire competition season results in my signature.

I am not too worried about Xavier's chances at this competition. However I do look forward to seeing P-LV South and GISH facing off again.

Sioux Falls O'Gormon is down this year.
They finished fourth in their class at Emmetsburg, behind Urbandale, Des Moines Lincoln, and Marshall.

There's never been a problem before with crowds- performing students should be able to watch other groups. Even if the problem arises, I'm not missing the chance to see Xhilaration

That's great to hear. It was a huge disappointment earlier this year at Linn-Mar to not get into the auditorium to watch other groups. That's what show choir's all about! I'm really excited to see PLS and GISH.

We are just as excited to see everyone else as well. We don't get to see these groups very often so its always fun when you get the chance to perform for one another.

How large is the auditorium that this competition takes place in? Are students allowed in the auditorium to watch other groups?

I know Nevada got 3rd place at Rock Bridge behind Pleasant Hill and Lincoln SW. Grand Island Senior has made finals at each competition they have attended- most recently receiving 4th place behind Waconia, Lewis Central, and Omaha Westside at Papillion-La Vista's competition. Titanium just got 5th place at Waukee behind Lewis Central, Mitchell, Ankeny, and Urbandale.

Awesome. I hadn't heard of many of these groups so it's nice to get to know them a little before heading into Omaha. Our group is really excited about competing.
