OK.... So this is quite funny, South has not dominated for that long... I'm from NEJ and i can remember 3 years ago, (in a competition where finals were not offered) we STOMPED South and Petal.... It was AWESOME, but ever since then South and petal have came back trying to make WJ and NEJ look bad when really we are the ones that have a variety of dance moves, so entertainment wise we hold the crown... not South but i agree that they need to be brought down a knotch...
I can promise you Dr. Myers would be highly embarrassed by this comment.

the only way a choir really looks bad is if it is their own fault..

Since making the transition to the largest division in 2003 (that's as far as my knowledge goes), South Jones has not been beaten by either Northeast or West Jones at any competition; that's at least six straight seasons.

I assume the competition you referred to is PRCC's "Mississippi show choir Contest", where choirs were only scored, judged, and scaled against their own division. Scores given to a Single-A group can't be compared to scores given to a Double-A or Triple-A. If they intended for all groups scores to be scaled the same way, the competition wouldn't have had divisions. Don't know who gave you the idea that you "STOMPED South and Petal", but you and that person are both way off.

I'll guarantee you that it has never been either South Jones or Petal's aim to "make WJ and NEJ bad"; I'm not even sure how one group can make another look bad, outside of just out-performing them altogether.

I agree with this statement Drew. I always enjoy watching "Gold Horizons" and I even have friends from NEJ. My aunt even plays keyboard for Dr. Meyers' show choir band; however, I believe your information is incorrect.

I can't officially speak on behalf of these choirs, but I think it's safe to say that making yall or West Jones look bad was NOT their #1 goal. I've always been entertained by Northeast Jones and I think yall have much to be proud of. I can't wait to see "Gold Horizons" this upcoming competition season as yall will be comepting in the large division!

This is actually the first year in a while that Opelika "Ovations" hasn't gone to SCC. I think it's good though... SCC is a great competition, but I think schedules should get mixed up every once in a while. Hopefully Ovations will return to SCC next year!
