I'm so ridiculously excited for next weekend. It's going to be a fun one, I can feel it.
I want to see Carmel's show again - they were one of the few choirs that were able to keep me awake and alert in my sleep-deprived stupor. Their closer was magnificent.
Hey i just wanted to say that im really excited for this competition!!!! It's always tons of fun!! Can't wait to see all of the groups, especially Carmel!!!
GC: Huntington
1RU: Carmel
2RU: DeKalb
3RU: Anderson
4RU: Homestead
I'd just switch the top 2...
it could be very close...
But, the history of this competition does show us that the more traditional choirs place well here... As much as i love HN, i do think that Carmel is still the better choir, unless they've made tremendous jumps this year.
Huntington North does very well at Carroll's invitational, in fact they have probably won the most there of any school in the history of the invitational. This year, 2008 ISSMA State Show Choir Champion Carmel could push them from that perch. From there, the second tier would go to either DeKalb, Anderson Highland or Homestead. Homestead would be my 'dark horse' because they have competed very well recently and will be ready to show their best against quality competition. I believe the last spot would go to either Busco, Columbia City or Northridge. Busco probably has that edge coming off their great DeKalb competition. Northridge could be another 'dark horse' because with Dan Baker (former Carroll assistant) as their director, I know he will be a stickler for vocals and this being an ISSMA site...they could do very well. This will his homecoming of sorts and he will have Northridge ready to perform!
My predictions:
GC: Carmel/Huntington
1RU: Huntington/Carmel
2RU: DeKalb / Anderson Highland / Homestead
3RU: Anderson Highland / Dekalb / Homestead
4RU: Homestead / Anderson Highland / Dekalb
5RU: Churubusco / Columbia City / Northridge
