hmm. Can anyone tell me how bleeding love was was it affective, speed up, enjoyable?
It's completely out of the blue when the tempo picks up, and both times I've seen it I've been a little annoyed by the switch. I like the song the way it is - when it's not "show choir-ified". I think they do a fine job with it, I'm just not a fan at all of how the song has been arranged.

The show opens really slow w/ a soloist, who does a wonderful job, that walks down the middle and sings the whole virst verse. Then they speed it up for the chorus and reast of the song. I would like it if the song was kept slow and more true to the original, but they do a great job with it. I actually think it is the best part of their show.
Yeah after reading that post I was thinking the same thing. Also, Marysville's second number "Mysterious Ways," that wouldn't happen to be the Mysterious Ways from The Color Purple??
No, the "Mysterious Ways" used is from U2's Achtung Baby album.
If it's the same performance they gave about a month ago, I'd say it was quite enjoyable. I'd look for Solon to have a rebound year... . It starts slow and build to an awesome dance break if memory serves correctly.
Really I would really love to see it if anyone has a video of it!

Just thought I would post some of the shows I remember...
Marysville Opener-"Today/Tonight, Tonight"
Second-"Mysterious Ways"
Ballad-"Finale B/Feels Like Today"
Boys-"Greyhound"
In Between Boys and Girls they sing a snippet of "Seven Bridges Road"
Girls-"Blackwater"
Closer-"Must Be the Water"
Wheaton
Opener-"Ripple in the Water/This Is Your Life"
Second-"Chasing A Dream"
Ballad-Foreign Language Intro followed by "Amazing Grace" and another song maybe called "Unending Love"
Girls-"Crazy Train" But only for like twenty seconds THANK GOD
The Next Three Songs also follow a train theme. One of the boys sings a great solo and is then joined by four girls, one to each mike. And then the whole choir comes on and Sings a Jazz number possibly called "Choo Choo Boogie". They nailed the style it was fun and done so well. Then the closer also is about a train I would guess it is called "Love You Like a Train"
Fairfield
Opener-"On My Way"
Ballad-"Brave"
Jazz-"Spider-Man"
Boys-Something that follows a super hero theme...it opens w/ a soloist and then all the boys come on it was very good
Girls-"Gimme, Gimme, Gimme"
Closer-"Into the Night"
Twinsburg
I really don't know the title of any of their songs, but the title of their show is "Code of Silence". The opener is interesting and very clean. Second song is clean too and the climax comes in this song with another epic Twinsburg dance break, which I loved. Ballad is called Louder than words. Then the Closer comes and opens with people filtering on in odd outfits and the first song is something like "The Music of Life" and then goes into another song I think
Olentangy
Opener-Big Broadway Show Tune...no idea of the name
I really can't remember any of their songs....But the second half of the show has a Jail Theme. I will say though that I though their vocals were great. They improved a lot from the daytime performance and I honestly thought they had the best vocal sound in the finals. I would have put them in Third even though I don't really care for their show.
Solon
Opener-"Bleeding Love"
Second-"Opposites Attract" I think that's what it was
Ballad- I'm not sure something about the circle of love...though never wowed by the sound they blended very well
Fourth-"Love Song Medley" started w/ "Love Song" by Sara Barielles
Closer-"The Power of Love"
Colerain
I don't remember song names except boys number was "I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5 and the Closer was "River Deep, Mountain High"

Yeah, I'll take a guess and say Marysville's "Mysterious Ways" is NOT the same one as in "The Color Purple". But at least thats in the show! ha
Seeing as how I own the CD and have seen the Broadway show, remind me how that song goes again? I think you may have the wrong musical, because its not in "The Color Purple".

Twinsburg's Show-
Opener: Sounds of Silence
Second: There's a Kind of Hush/Hush/Put a Lid on it
Ballad: Actions Speak Louder than Words
Closer: Beautiful Noise/Everything Louder than Everything Else
Solon's Ballad is "Circles" from The Color Purple
I'm kind of curious to see if anyone saw ETCs show? I kind of like it this year. Interesting .
Wheaton Warrenville's ballad was a song called "Amazing Grace (My chains are gone)" by Chris Tomlin, just in case anyone's interested in its origin. I don't know where the intro came from .
