GC: Solon Music in Motion
1ru: Beavercreek Friends
2ru: Euclid Varsity Chorale
3ru: DeKalb Classic Connection
4ru: Garfield Hts. Music Express
I'm sure you've heard of every choir on this list...?
Your right. I have heard of all of them. But in 2005, I hadn't heard of Euclid, Solon, or Garfield Heights.

I completely disagree with that statement. And I'm really getting tired of people saying that Music Warehouse got gypped at Loveland last year, for 2 reasons. 1.) I believe only 2 out of the 5 judges were from Ohio or have directed in Ohio. 2.) While I think Edgewood could have pulled off 1st runner up, the majority of the people there agreed that Colerain surprised them and deserved the GC and Best Vocals.
Vocals: Wheaton-Warrenville
Choreography: Fairfield
Combo: Fairfield The only reason I put Fairfield in front of Wheaton-Warrenville is because Ohio is known for protecting their own. Such as Edgewood against Colerain and St. Clairesville last year at Loveland. Ohio style of show choir isn't a huge difference but I believe judges will be more sympathetic toward Ohio groups.

I'm curious to see who will win the GC at Marysville. Regardless, I wish all the groups the best of luck and hope everyone has a fantastic time.
Also a few years ago when DeKalb got like 4th RU behind some smaller, unheard of Ohio choirs. Not dissing on them, they just lost to some groups that I hadn't heard much about. Especially to beat a caliber group like DeKalb.
It is just a theory of mine. And I don't believe it is only Ohio that does it. I believe that Indiana and Illinois do too, as does Iowa or Wisconsin...
But to prove your Ohio never wins in Indiana theory wrong. Teays Valley won a few years at Mooresville over Edgewood (1st RU in 2006, 3rd RU in 2004) and North Central (1st RU in 2004). But maybe they were THAT good. Seems as if Indiana choirs cannot win @ Mooresville. " border="0" alt="huh.gif" />

It's always interesting to hear the old "if your from out of state, you're not going to win" idea. For years I had always heard it was just the opposite- "an Ohio school could never win in Indiana since Indiana schools/judges are protective of their own!"
I don't remember all of them, but I'm pretty sure some of the judges for Showcase are from states like WI and IN, not just OH. So, it should be interesting! Either way, I think the state preference theory has been debunked!

Someone should make a "Who will win" poll on this competition... it would be interesting to see what people think since the caliber of top groups is so evenly spread.
