but being the loser i am i actually have a copy of the 04 scores with me lol.
Day round scores:
Steve Albaugh:
1st- Davenport North 182
2nd- Onalaska 171
2nd- (tie) Hastings 171
4th- Davenport West 163.5
5th- Davenport Central 161.5
6th- Linn-Mar 159
7th- Milton 156
Michael Harrington:
1st- Onalaska 167.5
2nd- Davenport North 165
3rd- Davenport Central 153.5
4th- Linn-Mar 152.5
5th- Davenport West 150

Allen Keopke:

3rd- Davenport Central 191
4th- Davenport West 176.5
5th- Milton 174
6th- Linn-Mar 168.5
7th- Hastings 159
so Hastings ended up being about 6 points out of finals even though they did get a 2nd place ranking. they were also last in the day, and I know that was a reason the judges thought they were too hard on them. They were 7th in vocals and 6th in choreography.
The judges spoke to eachother before announcements of finals and all decided they felt they judged Hastings to harshly, so they spoke to Dr. K. He decided to allow Hastings into finals due to the fact that Washington had been left out of finals in 7th place at three competitions already that season.
2 competitions, thank you very much!!! :-P (and at Hastings they only let in 5 groups, so we were only 6th there lol)
From day to night- it was a complete shake up.

After finals the results were-
GC- Onalaska
1st RU- Davenport North
2nd RU- Linn Mar
3rd RU- Hastings
4th RU- Milton
5th RU- Davenport West
6th RU- Davenport Central
7th RU- Anamosa
Obviously I have no idea of how these groups did, but the judges needed to do a better job with the scores. If they can come to a consensus that Hastings should be in finals, why didn't the score sheets reflect that? Assuming they didn't improve from day to night by leaps and bounds, the judges really messed up the day scores

Oh yay!! Well i hope they enjoy Mo-Show! It was always my favorite competition every year.
Oh my. I've honestly been thinking its like a week and a half away! Its this SATURDAY!
Your argument would be extremely biased. You've never competed at Mo Show... so would not know since your competition is held the same day.
Mo Show is hands down better than Jefferson's competition in my book. This comes from a person who in high school competed at Mo Show twice and Jefferson once. I then worked with my old group in 2007 when we competed at Jefferson again... and then in 2008 when we went to Mo Show.
I don't always agree with Mo Show's judging... but I feel that the experience is just overall more pleasant at Washington. Better mics, better competition, better stage, better hosts, etc.
The only thing that Jefferson has on Mo Show is Jeni Donahue.
Better hosts fo sho And I agree with the judging comment sometimes. I think in some years (2003, 2005 and 2006) the judging has been spot on. But there are some other years (2004...) that I just haven't quite agreed with some placings...
As for Jeni's comment about the atmospheres of both competitions... I COMPLETELY agree! I have competed at Jefferson twice, gone to watch groups twice, and of course I've been to Mo-Show too. What she said is extremely accurate.

NICE!! LOL
I have to say that MoShow and Jefferson have two, very different vibes going on.
I have only judged at Jefferson--but attended MoShow about 7 years ago with a group
I worked with and I have also finished judging at Jefferson and RUSHED over to MoSHow to cheer on
Davenport North several times. While show choir competitions are always fun and play music during breaks, etc. I think that Jefferson always has had a more serious, professional air to their competition. (**DISCLAIMER--that is not to say all other comeptitions arent serious!! Dont read into that) And MoShow is much more of a laid back, party, dance type of feel to it. Which is why I can understand why a lot of high schoolers are attracted to that competition. Both are run extremely well and both have the nicest parents, students and staff! I have never encountered a bad thing at either! Kudos to Cedar Rapids for that!
Southmont is 11/22 not 11/28 as shown in your competitions to attend list Jorge!

And seeing as I will be at Cedar Rapids Jefferson----I will say that is the better competition!
LOL So Adam you should bounce back and forth--what is it--a mile or so??
I tried that once! Got horribly lost (seriously - how is that even possible in Cedar Rapids? But their NE, SE street direction number thing made NO sense to me at all...) The only thing worse than going to both would be competing at both. Highly advise against that one too!

The Cedar Rapids trip is to the "FAB FIVE" performance held by Linn Mar, Prairie, Kennedy, Washington, and Jefferson.
Davenport West and Central's competition.
And I'm also still torn between Johnston and Davenport North. The line-up at Johnston is better... but I have a lot of friends coming for the North competition... so I'm not sure.
