This is what I have heard. The point totals from the judges were converted into rankings and added for the group's score. Obviously a lower score is better. CR Jefferson (and I believe Johnston as well..?) both had 23 points. CR Xavier had 24, netting us 8th place - however I have no idea if any other groups also had 24.
I really wish Linn-Mar would use the gymnasium. I only managed to sneak into the auditorium for one group all day, Urbandale (who were phenomenal).
Also - best male soloist from Xavier was Patrick Fagan, the soloist in "Streets of Dublin"
Look here Wes--here's the answer to your question. I kinda like this system; its easy to understand.
I hear Finals are going to go REALLY late--the last group doesn't even perform until like 11:30! Wow! It's gonna be a late night folks, so get out the coffee and prepare yourselves ;)

CR Jefferson finished in seventh, making them the last accepted finalist. CR Xavier finished in eighth, ONE rankings point behind
