DANG! What an intense competition! And the way the schedule is really changes up any predictions people had before. Really interesting thought... All the people with new directors/choreographers are all right in a row: Johnston, Ankeny, Iowa City West, Totino, CR Washington. And now 7 finalists!!!!! (i think that was a good move for Linn-Mar). Holy crap I'm so excited!!!

Which schools will already have a competition under their belt by Linn Mar? Is it just Totino, IC High, CR Prairie, and Johnston?

Can you remember a Linn Mar competition being so competitive before?

Well, I recall 2007 wasn't exactly a cake walk. Ankeny, Urbandale, Totino, Johnston, Bemidji, CR Kennedy as finalists, then W Deleware, both IC High and West, CR Xavier and Prairie all went home early... and I can't pull it up, but I also remember 2005 had a fair number of regular finalists that didn't make the top 6 either.

Seeing that schedule is makin' me nervous. I count something like 10-12 groups on that list that will likely make finals at just about any other competition they attend. There are going to be some very talented groups headed home early that day. I'm just hoping we're well prepared and mine isn't one of them.

It's going to be an epic way to start out the Iowa show choir circuit for the year though.

We chose Monona Grove after we found out that there were no spots left at Linn-Mar. I know I am very excited about the opportunity to perform at a competition where we have never gone (to my knowledge) and wish all the groups performing at Linn-Mar the best of luck.

I'm so mad we aren't going to Linn-Mar because it was my VERY FIRST show choir competition EVER! But Monona Grove will be new for our group so I'm pretty excited! (But still sad at the same time )

Also keep in mind that Ankeny and Iowa City West both have new directors this year, and Totino and CR Washington both have new choreographers. Seriously, there is no way to know how this competition is gonna turn out. Freakin ridiculous. But count me in

Johnston is using new choreographers too this year. stephen todd did 2 numbers, and both linda mceachran and mike weaver did 1.

I heard a rumor that Iowa City High will be there... But I'm not 100%. And yes, we (IC West,) will be there! This is going to be absolutely rediculous... Can't wait for the carnage!

Bemidji "Vocalmotive" is excited to start their year off at Linn Mar, and honored to be competing against such top notch groups! Good luck to EVERYONE in the months of hard work and countless hours ahead until this awesome weekend takes place!

So this competition is ridiculous... I just figured this out (because I'm REALLY bored). The groups going to Linn-Mar combined for a total of 15 Grand Championships last year. Isn't that crazy? What an insane competition.

Reeally Bored? " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

That's crazy though!
