hahaha.
you make me laugh.
i should have met you in chicago.

I wish I would have met some of you Powerhouse people too.

The only person I really got to meet from Burroughs besides the organic Oundjian, the white-gloved Jennings, and the rest of the Burroughs staff, was amazing performer Ben. I ran into him like four times in the hotel and competition.

I need more Powerhouse in my life!

I thought it was pretty clear by the "Stiff" choreography... it is clearly Jen Oundjian's work. ;)

I wouldn't really call it stiff, I like to call it "organic"

Marie, you are right, I haven't changed my message yet. But I will, I swear!!!!!

Thank you Mr. Atienza! WOW I can't believe Burroughs and Burbank tied by rank AND by score- I assumed it was just a rank tie. Great improvement to your amazing "Main Attraction" by the way! It was a thrill watching all my friends from Hawaii on stage live

oh and by the way- the MC work was histarical " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Mr. Atienza- do you have final scores?

Here you go Andy

Burbank .....Music 293.5 .....Show 243 .......Overall (extra 10) 49.5........Ranks 1,1,2,2, 1
Burroughs.....Music 292 .....Show 244.5 .......Overall (extra 10) 49.5 ........Ranks 1,1,2,2, 1
Hart .....Music 266.5 .....Show 232 .......Overall (extra 10) 46 ........Ranks 3,3,3,3,3
Los Al ....Music 246.5 .....Show 212 .......Overall (extra 10) 41.5 ........Ranks 4,4,4,4,4

I can't believe how close the top 2 scores were! It is like watching game 7 of the NBA finals with .001 seconds on the clock and down by 2 points... and you need a 3 to win.

Thanks to Burbank and Burroughs for the thrills in this "Battle of the West Coast". (The drama following was also entertaining pinch.gif )

Uck! I can't believe Burbank won. In my estimation Powerhouse was bomb ass (btw- I went to Burbank and was in In Sync for FOUR years, so .....) I hated Burbank's set. What the hell was that first song? The accapella was totally random. The country medley thing was .... haha. for like 5 seconds. Disco medley!? When I was in choir we all made fun of people who did that crap, and thankful that we ...... never would have to. Sorry, does creativity count for nothing any more? I was pretty bored seeing Damon Brown's choreography on EVERY other choir too. I don't know, that just makes no sense to me. Yes, Burbank sounded awesome and looked great but ..... it was a no go for me They just look like a big well oiled machine. Machines have no heart. If what that other person said about them parading around, being arrogant about their win is true, that is extremely shameful for me as an alumni, and quite honestly, first place with no class is last place.

David, David, David.....why so grouchy?? (That was unexpected on so many levels.) Why would your one and only post on this site be a disrespectful attack on your former choir? Not sure what could have been the motivation for this....

You admit they "sounded awesome and looked great" (by the way: isn't that the whole point?), but then assert that they 'have no heart'!? Were we watching the same choir? In Sync in prelims gave a very passionate and intense performance. You may not like the song choices (hey, disco isn't my favorite either), but so what? I don't think that gives you the right to attack the kids who are just doing the best they can with what they are given.

You also indirectly slam Mr. Carroll who, despite his "lack of creativity" dry.gif has somehow managed to 'create' one of the most respected and successful show choir programs in the nation. There isn't a more talented, likeable and hard-working director. The kids love learning from him.

While the actions of an overexhuberant few after the awards might not have been appropriate, isn't it hypocritical to throw stones at them right after admitting that 'we all made fun of people that did that crap' ? Have you forgotten that In Sync actually DID do some disco back in the day.... Us old timers might remember "Stayin' Alive" in 2000? And who was that soloist?? hmm,... ;) (And it didn't prevent you guys from doing well back then either...)

You may not agree with the results or like someone's 'style.' That's fine. But please consider the feelings of those who work so hard to produce something truly outstanding. I'm sure you did not intend to offend. But I was disappointed to see such a reaction....especially from one of our own.

Anyhow...it truly was a remarkable competition. Tony Atienza is amazing! SoCal choirs have had a wonderful year. Congratulations to all!

Hall of Fame: Burroughs: Tightrope Walker
Carlsbad: Hallelujah
Hart: A Cappella
Burbank: This is Your Dream
Los Alamitos: A Capella

I know the results lol... after all I stayed up until 2:45 to see it live

ummm...you said exactly right...except, we got show, burbank got music, and we did not get "best band" i don't think there was one...we don't normally qualify even when there is. but anyway... ;)

Texas Hold 'em is a game of bluffing and none of you directors have the gumption to play for the high stakes necessary to make a bluff significant. That being said, yes, I will still beat you into the ground. Can I bring my own deck of cards?
