For what it's worth, I think Brendan, Jen, the design team and Burroughs were brilliant this year. I hope we can all get together next fall like we did a couple years ago and catch up over a late dinner.

Eli, very mature apology and very mature attitude in dealing with the consequences. It doesn't change the mistake, but it certainly shows remorse and a proper response. I'm proud of the way you're dealing.

Brett Carroll is my idol. Idol's are often bald, I think. I think Idol's are also bad drivers in LA traffic and scare me on the highway. Idol's also hate sports and think that ESPN is a form of telekinetic power. Yes, if these things are true, then Brett is indeed my idol.

Burbank, much love to you guys and thanks. God Bless, Damon

Can i just say one thing?

There are way too many people on here that have the name Taylor. Even another "Taylor B." I guess i forgive you all for that, it's not REALLY your faults.

And to everyone else, sorry you are forced to deal with this confusion.

My heartfelt regards,

Taylor Barlow

To JBHS members, parents, staff, and fans:
MY previous post was taken very lightly, so I'd to take a minute to state my feelings. first off, the actions that were said to be taken by the entire choir (in sync) were in fact not done by the choir, but myself. I was overcome with emotions and acted extremely immature and flat out wrong. As many have said, many members of In Sync, in fact most all members are extremely friendly and encouraging, and have nothing but the highest regard for the JBHS choirs. Please don't think of the program as arrogant, or rude, because of one persons (my) actions. I do sincerely apologize to powerhouse, and was extremely embarassed when i was shown how i had acted on Saturday night. Many members of In Sync had even tried to stop what i had been doing however i refused thinking for some reason my ways were correct. As a member of Powerhouse had stated earlier, a President DOES REFLECT THE ENTIRE VMA, which is why i have resigned from the Presidency of Burbank High School's Vocal Music Assoc. I have grown to know many of you at Burroughs and you have been nothing but kind to me, and i have no excuse for the way i acted. I was ashamed to look my own choirs in the eyes today when announcing this, just as i am ashamed to say this over the internet to the mass amount of people reading this. I chose to turn an art, show choir, into some crazy sporting event, which was something that should have never been done. I realize that just a note online isnt enough to ease the pain i may have caused some of you, i asure you that i will work towards repairing the bridge that i have destroyed. Once again, i cannot apologize enough, and hope that you will forgive In Sync seeing as though they did nothing extreme, and turn you're anger towards myself. Sorry to all... Congrats on an amazing show........

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that it came to this. I don't know if you made this decision on your own, or if it was even a necessary decision, but I very much respect you taking action to rectify a situation. I also really appreciate the difficulty and the lengths to which you went to take responsibility for your actions. I applaude you in taking advantage of an opportunity to learn and grow. Awesome!

I thought traditionally it was "Ba dum bum ching"

It's "ba-dump-bump" period, no "ching" and I personally thought that your original post (as well as subsequent posts were making light of the whole thing and that was needed. I thought it was actually kind of funny myself. Everyone has sufficiently voiced their thoughts and opinions which is what is needed when you have a problem, and I think it is time to squash it now.

Let's ALL just choose to be over it.

Long live So Cal show choir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And "Yay" to the city of Burbank for having two show choir programs filled with great and talented kids and dedicated staff members!

As terrible a situation this is, I feel we all can learn from this - not just us Burbankians, but everyone. In a competition as intense as SoCal, emotions can and do run wild. We all just need to learn when and how to appropriately express our emotions. Though I'm sure many Powerhouse people are hurt, I hope you all can realize that while our actions were stupid, we did not set out purposefully to hurt any of you. All of us truly regret what happened and hope we can move forward from this. We all still have friends across the bridge (:

Once again, congratulations to EVERYONE who performed on Saturday. Everyone I had the chance to see was amazing, and I'm completely sure everyone I didn't see was amazing as well! I'll see you all next spring (: (: (:

Oh, and P.S. Orbie, my mom says "hi." Hahahaha.

<*>Even though BV did not place, they were VERY CLASSY and was very supportive of everyone! My compliments!

Mr. A, thank you so much for that. We really had such a great time on saturday, and yes, I know im a little late with the posting, but hey, homework calls. haha :>

But honestly, the support that we got and have been getting from your kids all year has meant more to me than you can know. besides having my best friend in your group, i have made some amazing friendships, and am very honored to be able to be associated with you all.

Once again, thank you for your support Mr. A. We can't wait for next year, and hopefully some more times for MM and MA to hang out. haha :>

It has been an awesome year, it was tight all the way through, and it was full of surprises. Either a victory or an "upset" either way I have had A LOT of fun and i know that i have an amazing time this year. It has been an excellent experience and I know i will learn and only grow from this experience. Everything is over and done with now. Burbank is an excellent choir who i know is very talented and are EXCELLENT performers. Burroughs, we are good as well (from what i have heard). We both are two different choirs that have beaten the best in the country. We leave with a great end of the year and thats that!!! Personally, it doesn't matter who won more GC's then the other. We both are National Champs and we both had awesome sets to perform. It was a pleasure being able to compete with our neighbors Burbank. And I know I can't wait to compete again next year. Thank you to everyone for the love and support that you have given Burroughs. Thanks for a great season EVERYONE, watching everyone has made me grow as a musician even more then I was. Like I said it was a great competition season and it was an awesome Junior year!
Thanks again Everyone!!!
Andrew "Orbie" Orbison

I think both Burroughs and Burbank are about as equal as it can get. 2 wins for Burbank and 2 for Burroughs and a tie that was awarded to Burbank. Congrats on the successful year of California Show Choirs!

I most definitely agree! The outcome of this competition was still a tie, regardless of who (whom? I can never remember the rule) they declared winner. I don't believe that anyone should be boasting about winning, nor be upset about losing because, as I mentioned previously, regardless of the group that was declared winner, it was a tie.

In my opinion, both choirs were equally rewarded (Grand Champions in Chicago and New York) for their commendable competition sets. Henceforth, everyone should be HAPPY!
