lol I was getting a little delusional by the time Chula was performing, and especially when awards were being announced. I can't believe I stayed up until 2:45 in the morning just for that " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

So first of all, a BIG Congratualtions to ALL the choirs that performed. I didnt get a chance to watch all of you because I was in the intermediate divisions, but from what I read, the performances were great. And I did watch the ending of finals on the live feed. (half of powerhouse and on) haha, I made my family stay up through awards because I really wanted to know who was gonna win. XD

and then after some rest I woke up this morning and went straight to SCC and read the ENTIRE forum. XD, one thing I have to say. Ohh the things I miss because I'm in Intermediate rather than Advanced. funny things occur, and i miss it. ohh well. I just get to read about it. ;)

anyways, GREAT JOB to EVERYONE!!!!!!! and i'm sooooo sad the season is over.

Burbank, I can't even begin to tell you guys how proud and happy I am for all of you!!!!! To Sound Dogs, Impressions, and Out of the Blue, great work against some really stiff and excellent competition. I can't wait to see the videos! Way to close your seasons' strong and represent your legacy!!!

To In Sync, you've just done what many thought couldn't happen. Burroughs is INCREDIBLE!! They deserve extreme props for their amazing vocal sound, their wildly creative visual design (and well-deserved Showmanship Award!), and for stunning show design. Mr. Jennings, Jen Oundjian and the team at Burroughs are tremendous talents, and tremendous educators. For you to come out on top, you had to be perhaps the strongest your group's EVER been. I watched your prelims show on the live feed (thanks, Haakon for the great quality!) and couldn't believe the insane intensity of your opener! EVERY number had improved since NYC, and I have no doubt that the finals show kicked up even another notch.

For the raw score to end in a tie isn't suprising. Arguably, 2 of the nation's absolute finest programs going head-to-head with each giving their performance of the year. What more could you ask for? It certainly could've gone either way. The fact that it turned ever so slightly on vocals should make you so proud of the work you've done vocally this season. MAD MAD MAD props to you guys for what you've accomplished and for the tremendous organization you are! To Mr Carroll, the students, the alums, and the parents, thanks for letting me be a part of the ride! When can we start again!?!?!?!

Also a shout out to Carlsbad. I totally respect your commitment this year and how you stayed tough throughout the season. I know it didn't go how we all wanted it to, but please realize your placement doesn't change how proud I am of you. Mr Carroll from Burbank said last night was a GREAT show by you guys, and he was totally impressed with the continued level of improvement. To Miss Owen and all of you, thanks for your dedication.

God Bless, Damon
ps: Eli, Do I get a new Sheriff- Ninja- Fake Michael Jackson Nose-Cowboy- Scuba-Ice Cream Man Suit complete with teflon spatula from the Dollar Store now? (Don't worry, everybody, I wouldn't get it either, if I were you!)

hey i have a challenge for all you non-So Cali choirs....

come out here and compete against us!!!

in other news... BURBANK - why didn't you perform like that all year long? you were fanTAStic tonight. so so so so so so so so so good. Just like the Burbank we knew and loved from last year. You were fighting for it, and it showed. I think first was VERY well deserved.

burroughs - jen still made the best show of all time. and everyone knows it. congrats congrats congrats.

sound vibes - this year has been such a great experience, i've learned sooooo much. you definitely gave it everything you had tonight. i thought last week you reached your potential, but nope! you proved me wrong yet, again. i'm so proud of you and to be one of your choreographers. I LOVE YOU

los al - way to work it!!! congrats!

i <3 so cal in so many ways.

I didn't think Burbank sang significantly better than John Burroughs, at least not at a margin large enough to fill what I saw as sizable gap between Burroughs and Burbank when it came to choreography and show design, but both choirs gave commendable performances in finals.

Congratulations to all of the SoCal finalists and it was a treat to get an extended taste of what California has to offer.

While I felt Burbank did sing better it was not significant. But, I also didn't feel the gap in Choreography was "sizable".

Also, you should come with Jorge next year and watch it up close!

WOW!!! Another In Sync/Powerhouse Tie. In 2006 If I remember correctly they didn't break the tie...they just called it a tie. Now another tie but, this time its broken by best vocals. Crazy stuff! At the beginning of the season when I saw In Sync I didn't think they would lose all year. Then, after Arcadia, Powerhouse stepped up to a whole new level and I didn't think Powerhouse would lose for the rest of the year and now In Sync steps up their game even more.

Amazing Rivalry, These choirs just push one another to get better and better. In sync and Powerhouse competed against each other 5 times this season with In Sync taking 3 GC's and powerhouse taking 2 Gc's. But I am calling 08 a complete tie between the 2 of them, they were both amazing this year. Thanks to everyone in So Cal for your hard work and for making this one of the most memorable seasons I've witnessed.

Wow. Just wow. Crazy competition. So much fun staying up till 2:40 to watch it on the net.

I was a little (emphesis on little) surprised that Burbank took this competition over Burroughs. But I dont know anything about the rivalry so yeah.

Burbank- Great show. This was my first time even hearing about you. (It seems my show choir knowledge ends before the rockies, except for a few exceptions.) So, your diction is probably the best i've heard ALL season. It was great! Also, your one number with 'todays songs'.. Hilarious. It just kept getting funnier and funnier. 'I got it from my momma'

John Burroughs - I only learned of you becasue of your triumph at FAME-Chicago. I don't know if you are disappointed about losing, but i wouldn't. I mean, look who took the GC? And to have this competition end in a TIE only to be broken by musicianship? WOW. Like Burbank, you guys also had amazing diction. And your Trapeeze song. I absolutely loved it. Your whole show was awesome.. with the circus theme. And i just thought the opening was sweet. They open the curtians and then there is this other curtian, but a more festive one. And then two people come and move it and the show starts. LOVED IT. It really was 'the greatest show on earth'

Hart - Hart, Hart, Hart. I must say. I LOVE YOUR SHOW. It is my one of, if not, my favorite show of the year. Quite a few choirs around here open with 'Saturday Night' but they just didn't have it like you did. And your first soloist.. i love you . Also, the River Dont Flow. i LOVE that song. Des Moines Dowling did that song this year.. and i loved it then.. and now i love it even more! And during your ballad.. I got goosebumps. OVER A LIVE FEED. Thats just crazy Okay. Your closer. LOVED IT. And the part that really sold it for me. Pterodactyl... i seriously almost fell out of my chair laughing SO hard.

Los Alamitos - Again, them damn mountains, keeping me from knowing about you. You guys have so much to be proud of. Making the first ever finals at SoCal! What an accomplishment! So much i could say, but i think this sums it up: This is it, Seniors.

This was such an amazing competition. I mean, i wouldnt stay up till 2:40 for nothing. =>
