Hey Haakon....

Just walked in the door from the Intermediate competition (had to drive back to Burbank). Logged in & wanted to say that the quality of the feed is awesome! Huge improvement from last year!

The SoundWaves Girls are still enroute home on the bus & I am calling in updates to them as to what is happening on-line here. They are hoping to get home early enough to catch some of this.

There was a little skipping in two of the songs, otherwise it went smoothly

So i decided to write stuff down, because i didnt wanna post on here about the peformances while it was happening. im typing these fast, so ignore typos

Los Alamitos-
1st song-
soloist. Why did they have him sing in the bottom right.. and have his spot be in the top left?.. pointless and it makes it look bad because when everyone is starting their moves and going.. he is still walking across stage. It just looked bad.
diction. i could have used more on words like time. it just didnt have enough.
2nd song-
choreography. there was a stretch in there when it was simply amazing.
3rd song- im really not a fan of the director coming out and directing. it makes it too concert choiry and loses the show choiry effect. we did a difficult a capella piece my freshman year and we were fine without a director. though i guess we live in differet regions so yeah.
Great, great sound. I loved it.
4th song
this is it, seniors i didnt know whether to take points off (figuratively) cuz he said it or to be like awwe. i went with the awwe. I liked this song, i dont remember which it was. but i wrote it was my favorite.
5th song
choreography this song had like 5 parts where the arms were kinda messy. not bad, but when competiing with people like burroughs and hart, you gotta watch it.
So, i cant tell if its the audience cheering or the kids on stage.
6th song
The guys at the beginning just didnt hit it very well. And again, the diction in this song wasnt very good. They sounded like they were saying Wastelaa. Not wasteland.

overall, in my opinion
i liked their show.. but the diction could be stronger.. but hey, what group couldnt have stronger diction. this was my first time even hearing of this group. very, very nice

When this is all over... someone from Los Al needs to explain to me the meaning of the combination of songs in their closer.

It looks like they only alloted 15 minutes per group on the schedule, which is normal show time without setup and teardown - not counting the time in between. So a backup was probably inevitable. Certainly not the first time it's happened at a show choir competition. Just sit back and enjoy the show... with the live internet feed, you have the luxury of watching it at home in your pajamas!

Anyone know how they ended up so far behind in the day? Does this have a chance to run over into finals?

I really don't want to be at my comp at 130 in the morning, and know that they aren't done

I have a feeling that this comp wont get done until about 2 A.M. tomorrow morning

It wouldn't be a true party if it ended before the new day! " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Looks like the feed is back up, though they're still playing tag.

Haha... it's because they're on break, Vanessa. The feed will be back up around 9:30 PST when the finals start.
