I don't think that Clinton "rents" clothes! LOL Also, they are from Mississippi, gee, do you really think they are that "wealthy"? Could it be that they practice very hard and use what money they do have wisely for their shows? Fundraisers, perhaps?
Their opener was some medley type thing...and they started off singing Get Here. The song that goes You can reach me by trailway, you can reach me by railway, you can reach me on an airplane, you can reach me with your mind. That song. Then they went into this ballad, that was some medley...and the only thing I recognized was when they said Somewhere over the rainbow.
And then they went into this Free Ride song, I believe. And then the girls came out in these white dresses that were frayed at the bottom and had orangeish flowers and sang a Sailing song. After that they had like 2 people to each microphone and sang a scat type song about a car while the stage crew set up a car behind them behind this screen, and then the guys came and sang a song about a car in Clinton letterman jackets. And then they closed with a Celine Dion song...something about I had to Drive all Night.
I'm pretty sure that's their show. Sorry I don't know any names or anything.

Umm all i remember is the closer and it was clein Dion and it was really cool, sorry i'm so tired, i might remember in the morning i'm getting a finals tape so yeah.....
Trey Finch was phenomenal.
He and the female soloist (I'm SOOOO sorry I don't remember her name) were both named Best ___soloists.

I talked with this really nice mom from Clinton, she was awesome...but she said that they rented the leather outfits from somewhere, and apparently they found the letter jackets for really cheap...so I don't know if they're flaunting their wealth or not. *shrug*
But, I was just floored by Clinton...they were simply amazing. I can't even describe how good they were. They just take Show Choir to a completely different level. They're just so classy, and so perfect. But, it was a well deserved Grand Championship for Clinton, and West Side, you guys were awesome! Amazing job.
... After thinking about their show and talking to some people, I realized that what I said was implied wrong. Attache's show is amazing... just spectacular. The group is clean and beautiful, and I'm very sorry if I gave the wrong impression. It was late, and I wasn't thinking clearly... I can't wait to get my finals video back to rewatch their show. They are so professional and beautiful... it's almost unrealistic, but it is real... it's just wow... Much love to all who competed at Benton!
That's all I know. Word is that the top three were amazing, but that Clinton defied description!!
Oh, I hope that's not true!!! I can't see Clinton until March at North Central, and I really really REALLY want to hear about their show before I get there!
But what a BIG show choir day in Iowa - NO SNOW!!!
ps: Please pardon the overuse of the exclamation point...
I think the only choir that will come close to Clinton is Kennedy. Jefferson isn't that strong in my opinion. I liked there show so much better last year.
I think Kennedy has the only chance.
I unfortunetly haven't seen Kennedy's show yet this year, and I might not get to tomorrow but I've heard a ton of good things about them this year. I think most of the people from both groups are in agreement that we just want to kick some Attache behind. " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Wouldn't that be so cool though, to honestly beat one of the top groups in the nation... in lil 'ole Iowa?
Jorge, I have to disagree with you - I wasn't in WSD last year, but I was there watching the whole time and I think we have somehting they didn't last year totally... we have the drive and the want to get things done. We cooperate and if someone has beef with someone else then they talk to them about it. The groups show, as most would agree, is much better than last years. I know you don't like that we supposidly "stole" a piece from Milton (as I restate we didn't even see them last year) but that doesn't mean the rest of it isn't there.
Good luck to everyone tomorrow, and I hope to post the results as soon as we get home!
I understand where you are coming from. But your show is nothing like it was last year in my eyes. I think your show is quite boring and dry this year... the only exception the last half of the ballad and small portions of Too Darn Hot. I mean yeah... you are better then Davenport West, but you just don't wow me. 2003 wasn't wow... it was ::jaw dropping:: "WOWZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". 2004 for me is ::sit and stare silent::.
This is just my opinion... I know plenty of people who love Jefferson this year!
Good Luck!
I do agree that last year's show was amazing, but I think I see it from my perspective because i saw it behind the scenes too. I'm glad you like parts of our show though, and hopefully you will get to see us again and maybe you'll like it more next time? " border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
