I don't believe we've been provided with a list of judges for the competition. I'm guessing just based off previous years that April James will be critiquing, but not scoring, and Jim Berry will be judging bands. Other than that who knows.

YAY for a schedule!!!! But.... why is Vivace performing on Saturday instead of Friday night? They are a 9th grade group, and have always competed on Friday night when at Supernova. My predictions for finalists (in no order):
Bemidji
Cedar Rapids Kennedy
Cedar Rapids Washington
Iowa City High
Iowa City West
Urbandale
The really interesting thing about 4 of these 6 groups is they rarely start off a season well. Most of these groups start off the season with much lower results than they have the rest of the season. It is so difficult to make predictions about this competition because of this. Kennedy and Urbandale are generally very prepared for Linn-Mar. Even saying that, last year Kennedy started off here with a shaky placement and even had a less than great preliminary performance at their 2nd competition (Milton). Washington has a history of not making finals at their first competition of the year (although that has not been the case the past 3 years). Bemidji has also not placed extremely high at Supernova, placing fifth two years in a row. Both of the Iowa City schools have had rocky results the past few years, and Iowa City West has yet to beat any of the other groups (Iowa City High hasn't placed higher in finals than Washington since 2004 and Kennedy since 2002). I think the most important fact is that Bemidji hasn't placed higher than fifth at Supernova ever (while I'm sure that will change this year) and that means that it is extremely possible (and possibly likely?) they will not do as well as people expect. Anyways, this will be an extremely interesting competion and i cannot wait to see what happens!!!!!
