I think the flexibility of extending the schedule would be something all directors would appreciate.

Very much so.

Well--theoretically, it's only fair to start finals 30 minutes later.

It's mostly due to the fact that if dinner break is 30 minutes less...that means 30 minutes less time for the performers to eat, and 30 minutes less for the directors to listen to tapes before they compete again.

I'm not concerned for any group, but if awards aren't done until 6:15 or so, and then classy ladys go on at 6:30, a group has to be ready and go in 15 minutes to warmup...I think the flexibility of extending the schedule would be something all directors would appreciate.

The time change is for the following reason:

A few of the Holmen girl's are taking the ACTs tomorrow morning, and didn't let their director know until very recently. All of the groups are staying the same in the morning, and I think they pushing groups up at night 25 minutes as well!

They have 7 girls that are taking the ACT's. They didn't let the director know till Thursday late from what we were told. They were moved to between New London and Mayville. Everything is just bumped back 25 minutes, leaving a shorter supper break time. If we have to we will start finals 1/2 hour later but we don't want to if we don't have to.

If they switched the time.. then I am sure there is a reason for it.

Unless you're aware of a lack of a good reason, I think we all should just wait and see.

Ya know... if they are going to move one girls group... they should really move the other as well. I mean come on... Holmen is like 5 minutes away... Bemidji is making a long trek to come to this competition, and they have to perform 2nd (now first because of Holmen being moved)? Lame sauce. I would hope they would move Bemidji's girls later as well... It's really only fair.

EDIT- I thought there was only 2 girls groups... but there are four. This puzzles me more... to move ONE of the four groups to a completely different time on the other side of the day just doesn't make sense. I feel bad for the girls groups at Sauk, Central, and Bemidji. Logan should really think about what they are doing.

i'm not really sure of a specific reason -- but i am going to assume that there may be a moving of breaks, etc? i guess we'll find out tomorrow!

Yeah... we'll find out tomorrow when we miss our prep groups performance time because we don't know what the new schedule is.

Yippee! And so it begins!

Holmen Girls are no longer performing at 8:15 AM -- there was a time switch to 3:15 PM!

Yeah, what's up with you guys getting such cushy spots?? You snagged a great time at Waconia too- and I think it was due to a schedule change as well.

Please elaborate. Why the change? The area high school can't get out of bed in the morning? That would throw off the entire schedule...

3:10- New London "Vision"
3:35- Mayville "Cardinal Singers"

I hope the New London can set up in one minute, perform a 3 minute show, and then tear down in another minute.
