Okay, let's say, hypothetically, that you bought a macbook cause it's super cute, only you don't know how to work it all that well, even though you've had it for like ever.... how would you go about downloading the HD file?

Remember, this is entirely hypothetical.

Ok so the Blu-Ray is a millions times better than Youtube. I loved Burroughs. Definately unique as far as show choir. I loved it! They way the song is done it could be in an actual Broadway show. It is very musical theatre like. I can't wait to see the rest!

WOW Häakon!! I never expected to see show choir in HD this is incredible!! Thanks!

Burroughs' opener is SO good. I haven't seen any of their show yet so I was blown away- especially in HD. Häakon, are you going to upload everybody's show in full? Or just everyone's opener?

Funny you should ask!

I don't have a lot of time to post this evening, so I'll just get to the good stuff. Due to the amazing level of competition at this event, FAME granted me special permission to film the finals in HD and share some of the best performances from the night with you. Starting today, I will be posting one group each night in full 1080p high definition that you can download - absolutely for free - right here on showchoir.com. For those of you whose computers may not be able to crunch through the large files, I will also make a 720p version available shortly. All you need to play the clips is Quicktime; if you have the latest version of iTunes, you already have the necessary software on your computer.

Tonight's performance is from John Burroughs' "Powerhouse;" their energetic opener "The Show Must Go On" (originally performed by Queen).

John Burroughs "Powerhouse" - Download in full 1080p High Definition

Download instructions: Please right-click this file and choose "save file as" to download it to your computer. Once it has completely finished, rename the file by removing the "X" at the end of the filename. The file should then be ready to play - just double-click it to watch!

More outstanding performances are coming soon. Enjoy!!

WOW the quality of HD is Spectacular!!! now i know why you hate Youtube so much!!! Thank you for putting this up.

John Burroughs: For a long LONG time you've been tied with another group for my favorite and this Opener just clenched it... All i can say is OH MY LORD you all can sing... And it's not like here in the midwest... It's Edgy, perfectly balanced, and incredibly appropriate... I've NEVER gotten so many chills watching a video in my entire life. I've seen it 6 times in the past like hour since it finished downloading... The choreography is amazing, and your band! AHH just too many good things... i could never judge .... lol

OK i can't wait for you to get other stuff up!!!!!

Looks amazing, Haak! (And Powerhouse, of course!) Dying to see all the color after the costume change and the backdrop goes up.

i think people need to take in consideration that all the groups that were performing were damn good.
people complaining about scores i think is completely absurd. The competition was bound to be really close, i know the whole day for me was so suspenseful.

just a couple of shout outs!!!

Clinton Attache: I have been hearing so much about you guys ever since i got in powerhouse my freshmen year. to actually see you was unreal and amazing!!!
BTW your girls......sorry women in that choir were beautiful.
you guys are extremely nice and it was a honor performing against you guys!!!

counterpoints: WOW I remember seeing you guys in '06 and you guys were amazing watching you guys perform again was a pleasure.

Waubonsie: Totally was not expecting what i saw from you guys!!! I fell in love with your set i keep singing and doing the choreography to the opener cant believe this choir has been around for only three years!!!!

Company:You guys were really entertaining, you are all amazing performers that stick out a lot!!!!!!

"if you only knew what i was going to do"

man i love that line!!!!

okay so my internet was messed up when i got home from chicago so i'm gonna write about my experience now. :]

Chicago was seriously a beautiful opportunity and i miss every single part of it. the h&m + urban outfitters + american apparel all on one corner, the blue man group, the "L", the embassy suites we stayed in, the snow + rain, the show choir dance/dinner, the chipotles, and most definitely the competition.

i miss it beyond belief.

i just want to thank FAME Chicago for hosting an amazing competition, everyone who was there cheering for us, everyone who was on scc cheering for us, the judges, and Haakon for coming with bruce tyler ben and i to sneak out of our room to get ice cream haha

attache - "y'all" are so nice and amazing performers and we think your accents are absolutely amazing haha :]

counterpoints - please dont stop the music. because it sounds amazing.

soundcheck - you guys soooo scared me going into finals because you guys are so soulful and passionate about your set. it was great to watch.

soundsensations - GIRL POWAAAAAA

south jones - very classy set. i liked it a lot :]

powerhouse - HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hahahaha [inside joke]

so to wrap things up, Chicago is for lovers. <3

p.s. - haakon, where are the hotel trophy pics at?

wow. i really wish i would've been in attendance for this invitational. i've just spent the last 4 hours reading this ENTIRE topic. talk about a show choir freak. wow. i just made myself sound really lame. whateva...

i personally have never seen any of the groups that were at FAME Chicago live, but dang do i wish i would've gotten the chance to. i've watched all on YouTube (regardless of year) and have always been impressed. i'm semi-biased to NCCP because we happen to share our choreographer. almost everytime i go on YouTube the first to videos i look for are Attache "Who Are You" and Burroughs "Earth Song". Waubonsie "Listen" has also become one of my favorites. god, i wish i would have been there.

but congratulations to everyone! Big props to JB Powerhouse! and to everyone else who was there to perform/support/watch/etc. last weekend!

It's understandable that the people who weren't there would be obsessed with the scoring. What else do they have to talk about? " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> For those who were there: How did you personally rank the choirs?

Yeah, I'm a little confused as to who you're referring to? Everyone who has commented on the scoring were people who were there (tscott, Aaron, Adam, myself). Maybe you can clarify who you meant?

You mean to say we havent debated the points over and over again? I don't mean disrespect to you Adam but first, it has been addressed. Its all over the place... And again, not meaning disrespect to you but why does it matter that your question is answered before you talk about the shows? I would think you of all people on here would be comfortable talking about shows instead of harvesting a points grudge. To us, the points have nothing to do with what they put on stage as a group. A pannel of 6 judges gave their opinion which IF one gets the whole point of show choir, should not matter.

FAME has made an official statement, and that is good enough for me, it's in the past and I could care less if the points were a fraction off. What I want to remember Chicago by is the amazing performances, not the elaborate debate on points. The reason all of us are on here is because of amazing performances, not to debate points.

Just sayin.... " border="0" alt="ermm.gif" />

Once again... my specific question has NOT been addressed. You say it has, but it hasn't. Show me where it has been if you are so confident. Secondly... I am not harvesting a "points grudge". That's Yuri and Aaron (who I am in 100% support of) FAME's official statement is good enough for you, but I am being honest in saying it isn't good enough for people that I associate with. This includes SCCers and directors involved. I was at the competition... I care. Everyone did a fantastic job... but a large group of us want to get to the bottom of this. Everyone can talk about the shows all they want... no one is stopping you.

No... my point has not been addressed. But good try.

I do not want to start discussing my thoughs on the shows until my question is answered.

I too am getting tired of the scoring/points discussion.

It's over with. FAME said the placings are as stands. So let's drop it. Get on with life.....everyone else will!

Congrats to all here. I'm sure this DVD will be well worth the money!
