You are the best Häakon! I have had a very boring day because the site has not been working all that well, but it is sure good to know its going to be fixed! When will that footage be up? Can't wait to see it!!!

Haak, if you can make heads or tails of their tabulation system, you're a greater man than I. I'm now even more confused.

It does make sense to me, but I can see how it's easily confusing. The problem is basically that there are multiple ties going on, and there are different methods used to deal with each set of ties. I will try to explain it in much more simple terms later this evening if I have a chance.

If it makes anyone feel better, FAME has adopted a different strategy for scoring at this weekend's competition in New York, and they have assured me that this system has never affected the outcome of any previous FAME competition.

I also must point out that this is a historical moment for the website - our topic has now reached the 1,000 post mark! Either we're just really crazy or this competition definitely was one of the biggest ever. I think it's probably a little of both.

To celebrate, I have some fantastic goodies coming soon - including footage from FAME that I really think is going to blow you away. For those who have had trouble accessing the website lately due to "out of memory" errors, it's because the site has become so popular this season that we're literally taxing the servers beyond their limits! I am ordering some upgrades as we speak that should help alliviate the problems and get things back to a "normal" functioning order very soon. Thanks to everyone for your patience and for making SCC the best show choir website on the planet!

Here are the raw scores-

OVERALL-
John Burroughs- 102.9
Clinton- 100.8
Waubonsie Valley- 98.9
North Central- 98.8
South Jones- 91.9
John Burroughs- 91.5

The real question is this...

In ranks...

Clinton was tied to North Central three judges to three in ranks... which was broken by the points... placing Clinton safely "2nd".

So-
John Burroughs- 111122
Clinton- 222344
North Central- 112444
Waubonsie Valley- 333334

wait, maybe i'm missing something, but are you saying that they determined finals order by ranking? i don't know how they do the math, but if you take the averages of all the rankings:

burroughs: 1.33

clinton: 2.83

n. central: 2.67

waubonsie: 3.17

so... north central had better rankings than clinton. right? so therefore shouldn't north have gotten second place? i know they said they determine ties with points and clinton was ahead in points, but north was beating clinton in the first place with rankings...

and also...

HOW LONG DO THE DVD'S USUALLY TAKE? i ordered mine the night after and i'm extremely anxious!

So it's Software malfunction? thats what they're saying happened but that it was ultimately fixed and the standings are correct. Sounds valid to me

I applaud FAME for posting their scores and admitting their mistakes. But, now I have to go further and ask that they also publicly post their official rules/judging system manual that they give to directors for complete clarity.

For those who were concerned about the way the scoring was tabulated, FAME has addressed the issue in an official press release here:

http://www.fameevents.net/

I hope this answers some questions and puts to rest some of the frustration that was held earlier by some members. Thanks for being a part of this historical topic and competition - it is definitely one for the record books!

Are there any more performances posted online yet? I would love to see the other choirs that were competing. The only one I've found is North Central's and, well, being from NC I've seen their show about 10 times and I loved it so much I watched it all online. " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I want to watch the others so I can judge you myself...jk. There were some amazing choirs in Chicago and I want to be able to see them all perform. Oh, and thanks in advance to posting them.

I concur. Let's ge them up pronto!

After careful review FAME events can assure you the results are correct and stand as awarded at the competition. There WERE two errors in the calculation/scoring; HOWEVER NEITHER of them affected the overall outcome or group placements.

You've got to be kidding me.

To continue the reoccuring theme:

THIS COMPETITION WAS AMAZING.
I couldn't believe how much talent we saw waiting in high schools all across the country. I also found it really incredible that schools I had never heard of were that impressive in both music and show.
The finals performances were jaw dropping.

Sound Sensations: I was so annoyed that I missed your second performance because of my bathroom use. " border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> But prelims were amazing and I heard you topped yourself like never before. Way to go and I love you all!

Attache: My friends and I were talking about how unreal it was to actually be watching you, in person, and on stage. You walk, talk, sing, and dance like full grown adults, and it was really great to compete against you all. I love your accents!

North Central: Another finals performance I missed...dangit. I did see you guys in prelims, though, and your opener, O Fortuna, literally made my jaw drop. It sounded like a professional recording! Videos on youtube don't do it justice, I'm sure, but it really was amazing. (Awesome soloists too!)

Waubonsie (sp?): WOW. Is it true your school has only had a show choir in existance for 3 years? If so, then I don't even know what to say. There was no low point in your set! I feel like that never happens, but somehow my eyes were always glued to the stage through the whole thing! You were all really nice to talk to, too

Guess that's it. I had a blast!

Congratulations to Powerhouse on your Grand Champion honors; with a 111112 overall ranking, you did what many thought was impossible - and while the point totals were close, you were clearly the solid favorite throughout the day. I am so proud of each and every one of you and am blessed to have such amazing friends.

Love ya haakon.
Kough modrtor time man.
Also got a really good idea to add to the site. I'll txt you l8r about it
