I have to say that this was quite possibly the only competition I have ever been to that I enjoyed each and every group. Just absolutely stunning choreography and Some amazing vocals!

Sorry Waubonsie for leaving you out of my predictions earlier but I had never seen you before, but now I have!

Wowza! Met some nice people too! Stay classy hehe

Will post more about my "day" experiences later (tired and have to go to work, sadly couldn't stay for finals)

I have never heard of Waubonsie Valley. who are they and who choreographs for them?
there are definatley a bunch of awesome things i have been seeing this year already. WW is really good from what I have heard and I think that competitions are going to be very hard this year. This is interesting. Im excited. Congrats to all the groups and good luck in the evening.
What is Crete's show this year?

Thomas Jefferson and Sullivan were no shows. Does anyone know the time schedule for finals?

Does anyone know what happened to TJ? Why were they a no-show?

Well, I am Adam Peters' secretary today! You're ALL jealous!

What he THINKS happened during the day:

1. Waubonsie Valley
2. Eisenhower Elite Energy
3. Wheaton Warrenville
4. Sullivan
5. Troy Buchanon
6. Twinsburg

Best Vocals: Waubonsie Valley
Best Choreography: Waubonsie Valley- but he hopes it'll go to EEE
Best Band: Eisenhower Elite Energy

Best Male Soloist: Sullivan's ballad soloist
Best Female Soloist: Waubonsie Valley

Waubonsie is a force to be reckoned with- but EEE also stepped it up majorly. Wheaton Warrenville is still incredibly strong, but overall, this competition is stacked with more groups that are prepared- making them stand out less.

They are still about 10 minutes away from awards.

The only results I am for sure of is that the Northridge Redcoats got 3rd. My friend who went last night didn't pay much attention to the other placings..hah. If I hear anything else, I'll let you all know.

Ughhh, I wish I was there right now though, I'm in such a competition mood. I have to wait a full week before Classic....

Good Luck to all competing and I hope somebody will post placements laterr... ;)

Oh... and I'll post some random predictions. This is what I am going to throw out there... judging from the shows I have seen, the vivid dreams I have had, the people I have talked to, and the vibes that I feel...

Grand Champion- Waubonsie Valley
1st Runner Up- Wheaton Warrenville
2nd Runner Up- Eisenhower

3rd Runner Up- Twinsburg
4th Runner Up- Troy
5th Runner Up- Sullivan

Best Vocals- Waubonsie Valley
Best Choreography- Wheaton Warrenville
Best Band- Eisenhower
Best Male Soloist- Eisenhower
Best Female Soloist- Wheaton Warrenville

Wow, you think Waubonsie Valley is even better than Wheaton? Then WV must have a freaking FANTASTIC show (which is highly possible, remember how amazing they were last year?). WW is just SO clean and their vocals are so superb...i just can't see a group come above them. Lol, it could be b/c I love WW show SO much, but then again, I haven't seen WV this year and don't think i'll get a chance to " border="0" alt="crying.gif" /> And who knows, they could've rocked my world even more than WW (which is hard to do, i must add, lol)

Good luck to all of the groups...this competition looks to be VERY difficult to win!

Rep D-port well West.

I think they will. I'm very pleased with the progress I have seen. The kids have worked very hard and no matter how they place tomorrow, as long as they have made someone smile, Mrs. Dunnegan and I will be happy. This is our first competition, so we aren't expecting wonders... but I feel that we are prepared... and at Onalaska in years past, West has improved leaps and bounds (13th in 2005, to 7th in 2006, to 8th in 2007). Hopefully Mt. Zion can be an "Onalaska" for us. haha

Good luck to all groups!
I can't wait to see shows I haven't seen like Twinsburg, Waubonsie Valley, Crete Monee, and Sullivan.

And I of course have been anticipating all week getting to see the wonderful Wheaton Warrenville "Classics" and Eisenhower "Elite Energy" again. Both are such class acts... please, if you are attending, do NOT miss these shows!

Also... Davenport West "West Connection" performs at 1:15! Everyone should go in and see them! I want lots of feedback on the show.

Oh... and I'll post some random predictions. This is what I am going to throw out there... judging from the shows I have seen, the vivid dreams I have had, the people I have talked to, and the vibes that I feel...

Best Female Soloist- Wheaton Warrenville

I will try my hardest to post tomorrow AFTER prelims how I will think it will go after actually seeing these shows. I just wanted to have fun tonight... because God knows I am not going to sleep.

Okay, are you like WITH Manteno? Or just their biggest fan EVER? " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I don't think Aaron feels BAD that he didn't put Ona in finals, I think he just recognizes that they are ALWAYS in finals at Mt. Zion- even when they haven't seemed to be deserving of it, and it seems weird to say they won't end up there.

I really think that the top 3 are going to be Eisenhower, Wheaton Warrenville, and Waubonsie Valley. I'm a big Sullivan fan, but two of those three groups have a competition under their belts- and they were both MORE than ready last weekend. I also think this panel of judges will appreciate how these groups sing stylistically, and their level of dancing.

QUOTE(Jorge @ Jan 16 2008, 01:29 PM) 412155
Agreed. Kind of like Buffalo Grove at Onalaska.

Once again... I also agree. But, I do think people will be surprised to see how Twinsburg places. I have heard amazing things about them... and they very well could place in the top three. Same with Waubonsie... I hear their show is even better than last year.

Ana has read my mind - the bolded section refers exactly to what my original post was meant to convey. as for Jorge's reponse, i agree that the potential is there for Onalaska to be the Buffalo Grove of the Mt. Zion competition. newer, more motivated groups are waiting to pick off aging powerhouses wherever you go!
