Some groups actually DO compete at times in their group t-shirts and jeans. Also, some groups only do a song or two, and use the event as just an early season "road test" to get out and baptize their new members into what a show feels like.
How are groups already competing in September?!?!?!? It's incredible to me that anybody could be ready that early.
We could come to this competition and just do the two numbers we currently have choreographed and our ballad. It'd be about an 8-9 minute show. Of course we'd be in our street clothes because our costuming won't be done until like November or early December.
Just found out today that Blackford, East Noble, and New Castle will also be there. Along with hosts Norwell and Bluffton.
So the complete line-up is:
Blackford
Bluffton
Carroll
Columbia City
Dekalb
East Noble
New Castle
Northrop
Norwell
And this year, because so many schools signed up (Yes, 9 schools is a lot for Bluffton) Only the mixed groups will be performing... I'm excited!
That's right, the first competiton of he 07-08 season is less than a month away! The 98th Annual Bluffton Street Fair will be hosting it's "Choral Contest" on Thursday, September 20th.
2006's placings
GC - Dekalb "Classic Connection (Grand champion for 10 years in a row at Blufton, I believe)
1RU - Northrop "Charisma"
2RU - Dekalb "Sound Sensation"
I've already heard that Columbia City, Carroll, Northrop, and Dekalb will be there this year... which will make Bluffton bigger than it's been in a few years. This is one of the most fun competitions because... I mean c'mon, It's a street fair!
So are any other schools showing up? Or anyone coming just to enjoy a great street fair?
