The pole on one broke, but I think the other one just got knocked over during the rescue attempt. It's really really too bad, because the mom who made them did a really amazing job- I'm disappointed the audience didn't get to see all six. Alas, we had not anticipated how the movement of the stage would affect them- oops!
Anyway, THAT was a fiasco if I've ever seen one.
Well, congrats to Wheaton Warrenville- you are truly an inspiring show choir- gives us all something to work towards! And thanks to the parents and students at Onalaska- our host was really really wonderful, and all the parents I encountered (especially when we were dealing with a bit of a medical emergency following our show- like I said- FIASCO) were really helpful and kind!

I must say, this competition was absolutely CRAZY. But very enjoyable and exciting as well. As Ana said, we had some "issues", so things didn't go as well as we would like. Despite that, we did our best, and I am very proud of our band! *hugs the band* Also, congrats to Hastings! You make Minnesota proud, and you know how much our show choir loves you My favorite show was DEFINITELY Wheaton, though EEE was a close 2nd. Wow, both groups have vocals that just blew me away, and the choreo was super clean. VERY solid shows One of my favorite numbers to watch was Mt. Zion's novelty number; very creative, and WOW, your male soloist in that number is adorable and extremely talented!
The thing about this competition is that you have a TON of VERY talented Varsity groups; if I were a judge, I would have had a very difficult time choosing the Top 6, let alone the winner. Everyone did so well today, and I of course was totally off-base in my Top 6 choices before today. But oh well, Onalaska just wouldn't be the same without the crazyness ;)
Congratulations to everyone on a job well done
did the one person actually break or did it just fall over??
Wheaton Warrenville was one of the most amazing show choirs I've seen to date live. Their vocals were unmatched and their choreography was for the most part, pretty clean. Their musicality and ability to create such a powerful sound blew me away. Congrats. on the win - you guys deserved it. You showed you wanted it. When you started that opener in finals you could see the passion in your eyes. That's what show choir is supposed to be about. Congrats. again and keep it up.
Congrats. on band Totino!!
To my fellow SCC companions - Today and this weekend has been so much fun. It was sad leaving you all tonight, but that just means we'll have to do it again...many times. I love you all, and I hope you travel safely back to Iowa!

After seeing Zion last year I would have put them in first but then again, WW is great, Zion is just so entertaing and all around great, after seeing them in person last year it was quite an expirience, but it turns out all my predicitions were a little off
so i msut say that this was one of the msot unpredictable competitions that i have ever been too. The ONLY thing i predicted right was three of the 6 finalists...no placings in the end or the other three..>WOW!!!
Wheaton was AMAZING!!!!! I knew you would place high and the soloist for you ballad (the one that got best female soloist) is STUNNING!!!!!! holy crap can she sing! I thought Mt. Zion would place second but like i said...i was WAY off everything...CONGRATS to everyone on a GREAT competition!
Oh, I forgot Wheaton was amazing, with amazing vocals....choreo was very good too, with a few things to work on.... but my gosh can those kids sing...Congrats to Jon and his group!!!! made IL proud, both WWSHS and EEE, like it should be!!
Waconia, very solid start to your season against one of the best line-ups anybody will EVER see! Work like crazy to make this season one to remember! Also to Altoona, keep working your character stuff, clean even the smallest details and come out firing at New London. God Bless, Damon
Buffalo Grove did not make finals by 3 points and one of the female judges killed them, dunno the name.... but they had awesome critique and comments....choreo was awesome, band needs to get louder and use more dynamics in vocals
Are the rankings listed correct? I wasn't sure because that first congrats to WW seemed to be in response to the predition above! Can anyone confirm results?? Thanks.
