I believe the Grand Champion Soloist for the day was Sarah Morrison from Homewood.

She was awesome! " border="0" alt="thumbsup.gif" />

I have always strived to come on here and talk positive about show choir. It is a way of life, not like any other activity. Negativity is not needed... I know nothing has been said, just making a point.

I watched almost every group this weekend. It was a very tough competition! There is not one group that can hang their heads!! NOT ONE!! Pascagoula was great as usual! Congrats on another division win! But i want to talk about the AA division. Every group in this division had an equal shot at making finals. I watched group after group lay their heart and soul on the stage for a finals spot! Not one groups gave a half hearted effort! My new philosophy for show choir is... Practice it, Polish it, Perform it and leave it on the stage! I saw that today! All 7 groups in this division poured everything they had into prelims. Unfortunatly they could not all make it. But i congratulate you all on what i consider 7 of the best prelim performances i have ever seen!

There are alot of things that make a good show choir..... But pouring your Heart and Soul out on stage is all up to you and that my friends is what makes me keep coming back year after year! Nothing makes me happier than to see young people so dedicated to something that they pour their heart out for it! I will support any group of young people that do that!

Congratulations to all! Congrats to Clinton, Albertville, South Jones, Tupelo Women and Homewood for munumental efforts tonight! This is what show choir is all about!

MT. ZION..... YOU ARE TRULY WINNERS IN MY BOOK!! YOU PUT IT AN ALL OUT EFFORT AND WERE VERY GOOD! WHAT MAKES YOU WINNERS IN MY BOOK WAS YOUR ATTITUDE! YOU LEFT IT ON THE STAGE! GREAT JOB!!

Thanks for a great weekend!

Preliminary Placements, AA Division

1st: Albertville "CenterStage!"
2nd: Clinton "Attaché"
3rd: (tie) South Jones "Company", Homewood "The Network"
5th: (tie) Spain Park "Park Singers", Mt. Zion "Swingsations"
7th: Opelika "Ovations"

This is false information. Mt. Zion was tied with Tupelo not Spain Park.

wow. this was the most intense, heart thumping competition i've ever attended.
i was VERY shocked that mt. zion didnt make it. they were so original and they
just enjoyed their show, and i could tell. i talked to some of yall lastnight and you
have the best attitudes, i would love to have you guys just come to albertville and
join our show choir and be one huge OBESE, INSANE show choir. i hated that you
didnt make finals, but like some of you said, its not all about making finals, its about
showing what your made of and doing your best, and if thats not good enough for
the judges then thats ok, thats their opinion, but all you could do was your best.
and from what i saw, that was your best and 100+ more.

now for my a*vegas kids; YEAHHHHHH. i'm so excited that we got 2nd, i mean this was such an accomplishment, i mean when they said that Clinton was 2nd in finals, we said 1st "MT. ZION", but when they said albertville centerstage! it was great!

i enjoyed every show choir i saw, i wanted to see you guys spain park, because i've heard such positive things about your show, so i hope its uploaded on youtube sometime soon.

GOOD JOB EVERYBODY

This is my first competition that I have been to I have not competed in(since we only are going to two). I got there in time for Class A awards and Class AA.

Mt. Zion: The show was so much better than on youtube lol.
Opelika: I didn't really like the show but it was a good performance.
Homewood: I abosolutely(sp) loved the show. The closer and opener was amazing.
Spain Park: Same thing I said about Homewood. The commerical medley was freakin awsome.
Tupelo: WOW!!!! The show was just plain amazing. Loved the energy and the costumes.
Albertville: I liked the show alot. I felt sorry for the soloist in the opener.
Clinton: Even though I thought the show on youtube was better than the prelims, the performance was still a good performance. Soloist in Ladies Choice was much better. They shouldn't have added the solo in the closer.

We didn't stay for South Jones but I am sure they were amazing.

This competition was so much fun!!! Clinton "Attache" was so nice to us, and after final awards David Fehr came and hung out with us. What an amazing group with such positive attitudes. I saw as many groups perform as possible and I must say everyone looked like they ment business here. I felt bad for Mt. Zion driving 13+ hours just to get sent home early. Their show was very entertaining.

South Jones brought back "Ten Days"! I loved it in '05, but an EXACT redo (except for costumes) now kind-of surprised me. " border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> They performed it well. Congrats to them and everyone else!

hey everyone! first of all i wanna say how amazing every show choir that was there last night was. WOW!!! i dont care about the results cuz you guys are all grand champion material to me! mt. zion: you guys rock! i love, love, love "What's Your Name?" it was so fantastic and original! and now to my Albertville Centerstage crew: I LOVE YOU GUYS SOOO MUCH!!! we have worked so very hard for this and i am glad it is finally paying off. i dont know about y'all, but i definitely dont mind coming in second to a legend like clinton. it would have been nice to beat them but they definitely deserved it! as for everyone else, like i said all you guys rock. i have never been to a better show choir competition!!! thanks petal!

wow, clinton was behind 12 pts in prelims and came back and took every caption (shared best overall) ... did they rock that much more in finals than prelims?

"Attaché" performed very well in finals.

Scores were all very close after prelims. "Attaché" was indeed 12 points behind Albertville, but it was on an 800 point scale.

That's the equivalent of 1.5 points on the 100 point scale used by most competitions.

So what exactly happened to Mt. Zion? They werent supposed to walk off stage?

Unless someone with better knowledge of this situation gets on here to argue otherwise, Mt. Zion was not disqualified.

Or, if they were disqualified, it had no effect on their not making finals.

As you see in the preliminary scoring, they were tied for 5th in the AA division with Spain Park, who also did not make finals.
