I believe that Duke Ellington was at Show Choir Nationals back in its first year (2001?) when ATSC was there. They are a performing arts school if I remember correctly. Their show was entertaining but they didn't do too well there.

Correct. They've performed for the president... I believe in their 2003 year.

that does not surprise me, from what I gather they are very talented just not the same- especially with their group being so small.

Anyone know anything about the Colorado group? Never seen them on here.

The Cheyenne Mountain choirs are pretty decent. I haven't seen them in about 9 years. When I was in High School(The district I attended had 7th graders in High School) in Colorado I saw them, but now it's such a vague memory... I do remember knowing that they are the superior group in Colorado (there's about 5 competitive groups out there).

If you get a chance to watch them let me know what you think...

any predictions for this comp??? it is going to be interesting...

its always interesting when you combine California choirs with choirs from the Midwest. I think it should be pretty up in the air for the top three.

I believe that Duke Ellington placed 4th overall and the Fame Show Choir Cup in Branson in 2003, behind Crete Monee, Spanish Fork, and Cedar Rapids Kennedy.

My director told us that they had a great gospel sound, not sure if he said it was the best he had heard at that point in time or not, but still impressive anyway you look at it.

Wow, those judges are quite the motley crew haha.

If anyone knows those three, they will be beaching it together as soon as the competition is over, that is a guarantee. Good luck to everyone there!

Lghtmycandle16 and all the others from Iowa,

Be sure to find me/us in Hawaii. I (and the Chula kids) will be excited to meet you all in person! Californians are very fun and polite, so don't be afraid to approach any of us! We can't wait to see your show!!!

I have heard that Duke Ellington has a gospel type feel to their style. I am also excited to see them!

Hart kids are quite enthusiastic and a bit... wild! I know from watching them for the past 15 years! They are so awesome!

When you put Chula and Hart together on one island.... oh my... ohmy.gif
Just follow that "voice" of Gail Hart, then you can't miss us!

Aloha! See you there!!!

TA

Awesome I can't wait! And yes for sure I'll come up and talk to you all- I'll ask for all the SCC Chula people lol. Best of luck to you all!!

edit:

ALOHA !
